Before I embark on this article I'm about to write I would like to point a few things out, firstly I'm a huge JT fan and would be the last person who would like him to leave, for the best part of 10 years he has been the foundations on which Chelsea has been built not to mention the fact that he was a product of our youth Academy he has been a credit to Chelsea Football Club.
I would be amongst the vast majority that would like to see him end his career at Chelsea, I feel it would be a fitting end to what would be a great success story for both the club and player himself, But in saying all that I can't help being drawn to an article I read some time ago.
The article went on to say that if any manager is to succeed at Chelsea they may have to do it without 'Mr.Chelsea', it was suggested that JT's position at the club had become to influential for one player to command, from club captain to virtual board member and that no manager could truly control and manage the squad with a captain that seems to wield an enormous amount of influence and power.
The reason this article keeps springing to mind is that if Carlo has been promised complete control of team affairs it is quite conceivable that he might not be to comfortable working in a situation in which the club captain has so much authority and power.
With JT turning 29 this year and lets be fair the way Terry plays he's unlikely to have an injury free end to his career (think Roy Keane) The clubs hierarchy might see Citieh's pursuit of JT as a great time to start thinking about life without JT despite there public insistence that the player is going nowhere.

If it's true, then i'm quite surprised we've agreed a fee so quickly. I always had the impression (based on what Everton have said) that this transfer saga would run and run and run, possibly into August.
They have to say the right things so that they don't look to bad in front of their own fans, they will slowly let the cat out of the bag.
