I don't understand why people can't see it. City are the better prospect. Rich beyond comparison, capable of outbidding Chelski at every turn, vowing to build a squad that will take on all comers in the coming years, top notch facilities, big fat wages, more stability, more ambition, bigger crowds and the absence of the sort of toxic atmosphere that has become the norm at Chelski. Why the hell wouldn't he be tempted by that? He'd be stupid not to be, FFS. One year out of Europe is a bonus to JT, whatever the idiot media say. He is captain of England and it's the World Cup next year.

BELIEVE!

John Terry may talk his way into a switch with Man City By JOHN CROSS and MARTIN LIPTON 5/07/2009

JOHN TERRY has been told by Chelsea to break his silence as the Stamford Bridge hierarchy prepare to do the unthinkable and sell the England captain.

While Chelsea insist they want Terry to stay and see out the rest of his career in SW6, the club are aware the issue will overshadow new coach Carlo Ancelotti’s unveiling this morning.

And as Blues keeper Petr Cech last night admitted Terry could be tempted by Manchester City’s limitless budget, Chelsea were coming round to the idea of cashing in if the Eastlands outfit lodged a £40million bid.

While Terry has long been seen as the heartbeat of the Blues and remains the player closest to the supporters, senior Chelsea figures accept he is not universally loved within the dressing room.

And with some doubts over the long-term condition of his back adding to the disquiet at Terry’s reluctance to publicly dismiss City’s £30m approach, the next 48 hours could prove decisive. And while Cech believes that Terry will stay, even with City willing to offer a staggering £300,000 a week, the keeper conceded the captain could be going.

Cech said: “Sometimes people want to have a chance to have new challenges and new adventures.’’

Terry will come under pressure to state he does not want to go to City. If he will not make the vow, Chelsea will reluctantly open proper talks with Mark Hughes’ outfit.

That quote from cech say's he offski's imo!

City have had two offers for the England defender rejected and remain interested in attempting to lure Chelsea's most influential player away from Stamford Bridge.
The ball, though, is now in Terry's court with a third bid – in the region of £35 million – likely to be lodged only if the 28 year-old indicates a desire to leave London.

Barcelona?s David Villa bid offers Manchester City hope of signing Samuel Eto?o
City followed a failed attempt, in January, with a second offer last week of around £30 million and while Chelsea value Terry at more than £40 million, they are determined to head off interest, with the defender key to Ancelotti's future plans, chiefly the assault on the Champions League.
Terry does not report for pre-season training until Thursday – all the England players were given extra time off following late season World Cup qualifiers – when Ancelotti will point out that City have no European football next season.
If Terry fails to give Ancelotti assurances that his future remains at his only club, then the Italian will want to see a transfer request, an unlikely scenario given the amount of money such a move would cost the player.
He could balance that out with wages in the region of £200,000 a week at Eastlands, but a player whose contract does not expire until 2012 may consider it the wrong time to be officially seeking a move.
It is not the way Ancelotti was hoping to begin life as successor to Guus Hiddink, though the new manager is close to adding new players to the squad.
Chelsea, who have signed City's out-of-contract striker Daniel Sturridge and Middlesbrough goalkeeper Ross Turnbull, are set to complete the £18 million capture of Yuri Zhirkov, the CSKA Moscow left-back and left-winger. Zhirkov flew into London last night to undergo a medical and discuss personal terms.
And Ancelotti is planning a move for Wesley Sneijder, the Real Madrid winger, after all but giving up on Bayern Munich's Franck Ribery. The Dutchman's tenure at the Bernabeu is under threat following the £80 million arrival of Manchester United's Cristiano Ronaldo.

All I know the press conference at Chelsea tomorrow should shed light on this!
