Ok, Time for another Nixon Conspiracy Theory lol (all made up, no ITK and in no way related to my own opinions that will remain undecided for now)

It may be easier for Terry to hand in a transfer request while in the States and for us to deal with them out there, The media will not be as intense and he wont be getting hounded outside cobham every day for soundbites and followed up the street by Journo's. Also get it done early and by the time Chelsea's tour is over and they return to the UK the dust may have settled considerably when they have to face the UK media and there own fans.

(Chelsea fans, if your cutting and pasting this on your boards please remember I make this shit up and do not represent the views of City fans in general).

I would much rather we moved on and got someone else in - someone like Bruno Alves from Porto, who was rumoured to be a back-up option for us.

I just think this could really drag on, what with all the intricacies of trying to prise someone like Terry from his position at Chelsea.

Plus, I just don't think he's the player he was a couple of years ago, and think there are better options out there (such as Alves) for much better money.

You have to ask yourself what message we send out to Terry if we drop our interest at the drop of a hat.

It may well be that, like Terry, we have to show willing and a desire to covet him long enough for the deal to get done.

There is clearly a mutual understanding between Hughes and Terry/advisors at present - that much is clear by Hughes' interpretation/informed opinion of Terry's current situation.

Terry has gone as far as he can at present and City will bide their time.

Hughes has also stated that he is willing to go right to the end of the window if needs be for targets.

I would guess Terry saga will rage on for quite a while yet, due to us and Terry remaining in the loop.

If it takes until midnight on transfer deadline day, because that is what required to get the deal done, then that's what will happen.

Chelsea don't need to money and aren't going to make this easy for either us or the player. They can afford to sit tight for a while longer yet, so proving they are desperate to keep him, all the while seeing the price increase.

Terry is worth it, and our owners and manager know this.

We are not buying a numpty, we are buying the England captain, a leader, a focal point for our ambitions.

Both sides of the terry argument need to just sit on the fence and accept how it plays out.

Never before, has John Terry been close to leaving Chelsea FC, the fact he now is, because of us, should also be a note of pride.

For some reason nixon, i think your conspiracy could be true.He might not want to face the media or the chelsea fans so when i the states he hands in the transfer request. At the same time chelsea will also look like the good guys so everybody is happy.

Its just me having wishful thinking again.

dunne has gone to south africa and he's still odds on to leave city both parties are on tours now anyway this in't dead until terry says so

Flapperty flap.....

Chill out, nothing is dead. This doesnt affect the transfer one ioata. Talks are at such an early stage that there is no reason for JT to stay and not go on the plane. Especially when our top brass, team and Manager are half way round the world as well.

I'm sure there will be developments once he and City are back in the UK, with another month and half left before the window closes.
