You took the time to create an account just for that? I despair with some people in this world I really do.

Not just for that, but because of that. One of the more utterly ridiculous comments I've read on this board.

So, Roman's Man...do you think Terry's gonna stay?

How do you think he's conducted himself regarding the whole situation?

Would you be surprised if it came out that Chelsea had tried to re-negotiate Terry's contract, to which he simply said "No" - I just want to leave. It's not about money...?

If Terry ends up leaving (highly doubtful), then no level of PR-smoothing is going to change the fans' opinion of him. We will just see him as a money grubbing guy who left a perennial Champions League contending team to chase money, and all this after years of declaring his devout loyalty to the club.

Personally, I don't think he is going anywhere and is only after an improved contract. I don't really appreciate the way he's conducted himself, but he's been a stalwart at the club for many years now and I can't be overly critical of him. I just wish he would come out and put all rumors to bed. He should have done so weeks ago, but he is after an improved contract. No offense, but I don't see what City would offer JT that would tempt him there other than money - which we also have lots of; and he doesn't seem to strike me as the mercenary type. We have a few of those about and even they are still with the club despite outside offers.

Would the hierachy at Chelsea allow their new manager to make a total prick of himself by proclaiming that Terry is to stay at Chelsea 100%, when they know that the player is leaving? I can't see it. Hope I'm wrong, but even Chelsea aren't that stupid are they?

Mate, I know he made a bit of an over-confident statement but don't make all Chelsea fans look like idiots.

By making a jocular exclamation? Why don't you remove the pineapple from your ass and stop trying to appear high and mighty for your Man City buddies, eh?

I apologise, mate, I thought you were just coming to antagonise people but you've shown your being pretty civil. :)

You wouldn't have taken the trouble to come on here if you didn't think there was a good chance Terry was leaving.

NP. I've been perusing through the board for some time now and probably wouldn't have created this account but for the audacity of the statement! I think I'll stick around :x

It's a pretty active board, and I like the fact City have the financial muscle to make things interesting in an otherwise stale and predictable league at the top.

Fair post mate, and I tend to agree with you on most of it,with the possible exception of "not the mercenary type" yet he seems to be playing one club off against the other.
IMO its a win/win for JT - he either stays,(with more dosh and his "Chelsea through & through" credentials intact),or he comes to us and gets a lot more dosh.
If I were a Chelsea fan,I would find his,(his agents?),silence questionable.

Bit of a non sequitor there - he "doesn't strike you as the mercenary type" and you know what they're like, and yet if he comes to City it's because he's money grabbing? Could you not concede that after that long at Chelsea he might be feeling a bit stale, and would relish the opportunity to be somewhere different, with the challenge of turning a mid-table team into a CL side?

You mean United winning every year?

Yeah I know Ancelotti is a reknowned liar, but my feeling are so many statements have been made by people that happen to be so in depth rather than an off the cuff remark that I'm starting to believe him in this case. When he first said JT 100% staying I didn't believe him, but now I think it is too elaborate to not have some truth in it.

I still don't completely believe him, though. It's just looking a lot like JT will stay which I think will actually benefit City to be honest as there are better centre backs and leadership can be developed from within.

There are better centre backs around for us to go for are there? Care to humour me, and name a few?
