you have the richest owners right now but what will happen when liverpool and chelsea gets new rich arabic owners in the future?
i'm pretty sure that no one will join city when that happens

Is this wishful thinking, there's very little evidence to point towards any potential takeovers by rich arabs of either club in the offing.

Another thing to consider is that both these clubs have massive debts and one has new stadium commitments. Any takeover would be very expensive up front and unless it's the richest in the world doing the business there'll not be alot left in the pot to entice decent players. If Chelsea or Liverpool were really seen as attractive propositions they'd have been bought by now. The fact is financially they're not..........

Anyone else out there getting a bit fed up with all of this?

Part of me says JT will join us, because of the money being offered, the project, and the fact that he will get a nice world cup year with less games, and less chance of injury as he will play about 15 games less

The other part of me says he is sitting there in America and saying "you have a choice. Make me the best paid player here, or I'm off"

Either way JT cannot lose, but arent we beginning to lose face a little?

Eto'o, Kaka, JT - maybe should set their sights on tagets who we can actually buy? Having said that, we did get Robbie before someone has a go at me.

I just don't the City are doing themselves and favours by chasing JT. We should move on

I am tired of it, but when you look at it, the only people getting hot under the collar are on this forum!!!

From City's perspective, we express interest in a player and make an offer. Maybe we improve our offer. And we wait to hear.

Maybe he comes back and says yes. Maybe it's a no. And we move on.

It's hardly "embarrassing" or a case of us "losing face". We simply try to attract good players and some will come, some won't.

People on here are blowing this WAY out of proportion. If anyone is being embarrassed, it's Chelsea - given Terry's obvious lack of comment.

(Having said that, of course he'd be a great signing and I'd love him to come.)

Well put mate. City have handled this transfer attempt very professionally.

Mate i have an arab background and i know a lot about this stuff. The richest family in the arab world is the Saudi family..... they are way richer than any other family and most of their wealth is off records and not shown to the public records. After them it is the royal family of Abu Dhabi, so our Sheikh's family are the second richest in the arab world.

I wasnt having a go at City. I would love to see JT in a sky blue shirt, but I think he is using us to get a better deal off Chelsea. If he really wanted to come and play for us, he would have broken his silence. And the silence is deafening.

City are a lot more professional than in the past, and I think they have Gary Cook to thank for this. The season starts three weeks tomorrow, and we need to get this sorted one way or another

Does it matter, cos they are a damn sight better off than your owner.
I bet no Chelski fans were posting on here when we had no money. You are just scared because you can see that the future is blue - SKY BLUE

would city get an idea before the media if JT is staying at chelsea?????.....

Possibly not.

If Terry is talking about a new deal, he loses all his bargaining power if City pull out.

He would agree the deal with Chelsea then tell City.

Agreed, but this is not to say that city would not be informed before the media.

No it's 1 trillion in oil alone, read it properly, they have property for instance and horses and stables and other great wealths and then there is the undeclared wealth, believe me it is 3.5 trillion

Yes, fair enough, I misunderstood the question

The Terry situation is a very strange one, but as long as he stays silent we're in with a chance of getting him. I think I read somewhere that Terry's agents etc aren't out in America with him, if thats the case then I can't see anything getting decided on the US tour. Terry may well be coming under pressure from Abramovich and that twister Kenyon but maybe he's keeping them at bay saying he won't decide anything out there and wants time to talk to his agents when he gets back. Not saying he will come to City, but maybe Terry himself doesn't know what he'll do yet and wants to sit down with his advisors when he gets back. Just a thought.

I love this!!

1 trillion. No it's 3.5 trillion. Like it fucking matters?!!!

Now if someone said you're knob was 5 inches when you know very will that it's 6, that might only be one inch but that one inch would matter (or would it - that's a whole different debate?!)

But once we are talking not even billions, but TRILLIONS of £££...............fuck me!!!
