Joleon Lescott

He's not there to play attacking passes ffs, he's there to defend and up until the last 7-8 games he's been carrying Kompany to an extent.

ahh I see - but Vincent Kompany is - right?

and what happens when JL plays a panic pass to VC who finds himself under pressure so returns it to JL - who immediately returns it straight back to Kompany. this is not a one-off situation, it happens numerous times in every game.[/quote]

Are you real, I'm saying Lescott has carried Kompany defensively this season at times and how often has the scenario you mentioned happened I can't think of any. If anything Lescotts problem when he has the ball and doesn't see an option he tries to launch it down the line, though he never gets much distance in my opinion and turns the full backs around.

I for one rarely see this panic pass, he is a defender and does his main job very well im not looking for a David Silva who can play in defense (although would be cool). he always picks the easy pass as he is a confident passer but if he plays a panic pass why not ask why he is having to make that pass?

Done really well since he got into the team last season and the start of this but for me he's dropped off a bit recently and seems more nervy, although that may have something to do with him being rotated in and out of the team. Hopefully he can do well with whoever replaces Kompany and if it's Savic to help him along the same way Kompany did with Boyata.

His distribution is iffy but he's been defending ok

More than 'iffy', I'd say. He's an old-fashioned type of 'stopper', but give him the ball and he generally panics/passes sideways/passes back to Joe Hart/hoofs it upfield.

As a defender I have no doubts about his capability, but just compare his distribution to those alongside him, like Vinnie or Clichy, even Savic.

Completely disagree. Lescott has been delivering for well over a year.

It's Savic's time to step up a gear.

This although i think Richards will play

Not a good feeling tomorrow personally trying to be positive come game time will be up for it but we are without dount weaker and Liverpool will be stronger than the last time we played

Just cant see a positive result

Oh dc you are such a tart. We going to smash them until theyu beg us to stop

Sorry but I just don't see JL in the same league as VK.

Jolean can't get rid off the ball quick enough and just never seems to want it. Always like a hot potato to him.
Gets shot off it as soon as poss with short side or back passes. His forward passing rarely sees a friendly shirt.
This lad cost us big bucks and for this an above average player is expected.
He does stick in the odd goal for us and I must admit I think he's an ok player but he always looks uncomfortable on the ball.
Stick a couple in the bag for us mate against the dipper's. Cheers!
