People who believe he's anywhere near as good as Kompany are out of their mind.

I wouldnt say there was a lot between them to be honest.

Great performance by Lescott last night.
He made Hulk look like a pussy. Winging everytime he got tackled.

Lescott put in a really solid performance against Porto last night, Hulk comes with a formidable reputation but Lescott hardly gave him a sniff, he looked quick, strong and read the game very well indeed. Coming off the back of what I believed was a man of the match performance against Villa it's very promiding indeed. When the "unsung" members of the side, Barry, Milner, Lescott etc are putting in performances at that level it bodes well for City's chances.

Along with gaz baz consistently our most underrated performer. Had a great game tonight.

Lescott is the most improved and most under rated player at the club. He had the kid 'Hulk' (lol) in his pocket all game last night and out muscled him every time he tried to get lippy.

Not only does have strength and bottle he reads the game really well and can also actually 'play'. Goes about his business quietly but very effectively.

I think he's developed a lot due to playing with Vinny and due to the fact that our Italian coaching team are experts in defending.

Although Kompany is certainly a more classy performer, Lescott has hardly put a foot wrong this season for me. Has improved massively, looks much more composed on the ball as well.

Kompany's all-round game is much better than Lescott's, but Joleon is very steadily improving. Excellent game last night on top of his great game against Villa.

I wouldnt say there was a lot between them to be honest.

Our defence is far less effective without Kompany because he can marshal a defence and Lescott can't. He can also play out in a way than Lescott can only dream of. Kompany can play some absolutely beautiful balls that Lescott will never be able to do. He's a far more intelligent player, which is why he's captain despite being nearly four years younger than Lescott. Lescott is an improvement on Kolo (and I didn't think that when he first signed) but we can absorb his loss far more easily than we could Kompany's.
