West Ham have made a formal approach according to Sky and would take him on a permanent.

An attempt to unsettle their next opponents possibly?

They need a centre half so can't see it but would he go

Sky Sports: West Ham have made an approach for Lescott and are willing to take over the last 6 months of his City contract + 2 years on top.

Highly doubt it, their genuinely interested

I doubt Joleon would want relegation in 2014 on his cv rather than treble winner.
Exactly....why leave now when he has the chance of medals come May.....no amount of football would change that, he will leave but it won't be until the end of the season and with a host of clubs to choose from

Once in a lifetime chance to play in a WC in Brazil? (not saying playing for West Ham would get him in the England squad, but he might think so)

It may be both, but if a move is made soon, he wont play apart in the league cup final and a good performance or even a win will buy BFS some more time.

Depends on his perspective, playing regularly for a London club would probably improve his chances of being chosen by London FC for the summer camp in Brazil.

Not a chance of Lescott making the World Cup squad if he goes to West Ham....he has more chance making the squad while with us and they are slight...Hodgeson doesn't fancy him and the only way he would guarantee a seat on the plane would be if he signed for the Rags as it seems to be a perquisite to getting in the England squad these days

Not to read too much into it, but a couple of bookies are now offering short odds on a move to West Ham.
