Madness that people put Evans above Lescott, lol.He was twice the player & part of the best cb pairing we have ever had at City. We have never even come close to replacing him & it will end up costing a billion.
Barry is nowhere near Fernandinho as a footballer, just better at defending space, at which he was the all time best. Fernandinho is better at literally everything else & 4 yards faster.

Pep and his team are obviously looking to make the addition of a squad player that fits a certain criteria,and ticks the relevant boxes.So,while we'd all sooner a more obvious,younger,superstar type player......It seems that isnt the profile we currently want/require and that all roads lead to this lad.
I guess circumstance has changed our initial strategy in regards our recruitment,subsequently while Evans will not have been on list A or probably even B......i can only trust this decision will not have been made without a great deal of thought.

If the question was: 'Find the best cb in the world, that we can sign for less than 30 mil' And the answer was: 'Jonny Evans', then yes, Pep & the scouting team have been fucking useless at scouting central defenders.
Somewhere, right now, there is a far better alternative & we will be bidding 80 mil for him next year, after someone else has scouted him & signed him, when it becomes obvious to our people.

Earlier in the summer the talk was we agreed to buy Hernandez, then Atletico got their ban and we agreed for next summer. If true then we looked like we were keeping Kolarov then he decided to go. If all that is true then Evans is a stop gap premier leagye experienced Kolarov replacement nothing more than that really. Tbh there is always a lot of shite written in the transfer forum but I can understand it on this thread as 25 plus million for evans is a joke.There is criciticsm and hyperbole some tend for the latter
