Evans is shite. NOT good enough for city. We should never sign ex rags. We have better own grown players than this waste of space. Please tell me this is a joke.

If you provided a good reason for not signing Evans, based on facts - you could be taken seriously. However - Tevez, Schmeical, Law to name a few were ex rags who contributed greatly to our success. We DONT have better home grown players. Grow up & see the bigger picture. We need cover at CH. He's perfect for the role. Pep fortunately is not limited by silly prejudices. The team comes first.

Quite possibly, reports we are doubling his wages. It's frustrating that we will potentially have another mediocre player on high wages we won't be able to shift in say 12 months.

If we replace Otamendi next summer though, Then with Stones, Kompany, and new centre back. There would be no real need to move Evans as our 4th centre back out, just as we weren't in any need to move Kolarov out this summer.

The issue i have is if the figures being quoted are correct, I understand the fees have jumped up a scale this year but £18 million for a player signed for £6 million and at his age is excellent business for the baggies. If we are then serious about nearly doubling his wage then it really is all fucked up.

I watch every game on the box and he has been playing for a side who have everyone behind the ball and hoof it away,how he can suddenly become comfortable on the ball playing in a pep team that demands they play like john is totally beyond me

Ok, I was dead against this when I first heard about it, as he's an ex Rag player, a fucking Rag fan, and I don't think he's that good. I've since had time to think it over and read most of the posts on here, with some very enlightened opinions.

So, now my position is that he's still not good enough - yes, even as fourth choice.

This. I keep reading he is back up....4th choice etc etc but you dont spend nearly £30M on a player like that before you even think about his wages over the life of his contract!

In 12 months time when he hasn't kicked a fucking ball in anger for us he will be yet another to add to the list ala Delph, Bony etc etc.

Put the money towards landing a genuine number 1 target and go with Tosin because this is just fucking bonkers and im a happy clapper!

I can't believe folk are saying we aren't proper blues if we don't accept this transfer. I mean it's utter fucking madness to consider paying that fee. We never learn. It will end with him on stupid wages for the next 3/4 years and us. It being able to shift him
