Honestly, the homegrown thing isn't the biggest limitation. If we were dead set on a left-footed back it does limit your options severely. Looking in FM tells me this much.

So, homegrown, left sided CB, can play a little bit, circa £25m, rag - Michael Keane ticks all the boxes ;)

OK, only joshing you, I know you can't play a transfer window like that - we may be in for a CB now based on how other deals have panned out. However, if we'd played our hand a little earlier, with age on his side etc.....

You won't see me slamming it. The researchers and FM team take the ratings and data very seriously and there are a lot of checks and balances within it from what I understand.

What I don't like is that we haven't replaced Otamendi and had another CB to battle with Stones for the spot next to Vinny. How have we missed or passed on VVD, Laporte, Bonucci and passed on others, is my question. I hope this position doesn't come back to bite us on the ass this year

Think the plan was to sell Otamendi and Keep Kolarov and get another top class CB like VVD. But Kolarov didn't want to stay so was sold. Be difficult to change like the fullbacks and 2 new cb's if Otamendi was sold now imo.
