Super. We're back to being silly little City fans because we don't see this as some kind of master stroke. Fuck all to do with seeing how we play as a team and having watched Evans think his attributes may be found wanting a little. His lack of pace, strength or arial ability will have no bearing because he's homegrown and can pass.
He's bigged up by the media because he's British.

I thought LVG got rid.. because Evans ****cope with--pressure/complex tactics/rotation

What could possibly go wrong if he signs for us

And so now we're holding up Louis Van Gaal as a person who makes good decisions as a manager?

Haha.

I always think it's good from time to time to step out of the myopic tribalism that surrounds football and actually go and talk to people who know more than you. I did just that about Evans and am now pretty excited about his signing. Say what you want but there's a lot of Midlands journalists and West Brom supporters who are taking the piss out of the reactions from some City fans. Our centre halves in the last few seasons have hardly covered themselves in glory whereas Evans has been outstanding for West Brom for two seasons now. Granted their expectations are much lower than ours, but most people credit him with being their consistently best player during the period he's been with them. Certainly he's going to bring the kind of stability we rarely saw whenever Otamendi/Stones for example played together.

Appreciate that he played for the rags but considering the number of ex rags that have come through the door that shouldn't really be an issue.
That's far too cogent an argument on this subject for my liking, mate.

Ban yourself, sine die, immediately :-)

Spot on. Said it before on here but I was intrigued last season why Wenger bid for Evans so I watched him quite bit last season and he is a pretty good defender clam strong great passer brings the ball out also.

Yep, Tony Pulis renowned for his love of weak defenders who can't win an aerial battle!

When you say stuff like that it just highlights how irrational your argument actually is.

I'd agree that Pulis does prefer a rough and tumble type of CB who is good in the air and strong. Evans is an exception to the rule though because he isn't any of those.

My argument isn't irrational - it's based on the player Jonny Evans is. Just because he's playing for a manager who would normally go for brute strength doesn't make it any less so.

The only people who seem surprised by this in a negative way are City supporters. Says a lot.

If we sign Evans, Sanchez and Martin we will have had our best transfer window since 2010. The only issue City supporters can realistically have is Evans rag history and that doesn't matter a damn to me at this point. No City supporter would have blinked if we signed Pogba so why the issue with Evans?

He's not though. That's bollocks.

I don't see the defender you do.
Fuck knows what's going on with the quotes.

Ederson, Mendy, Martin, Danilo, Walker, Evans, Bernardo, Sanchez.

Should be much better than 2010.

I like Evans and if it wasn't for injuries over the years he might well still be at United. But, if we knew we were in a situation like this why didn't we go after Keane before Everton got him? You could say the same about Pickford too.

How could you say the same about Pickford?

Keane is right footed and plays on the right. The opposite of what we need.

The irrational bit is how Jonny Evans has gone from a joke figure amongst City (& a fair few Utd) fans, to a player some are happy for us to sign, by playing two seasons for West Brom.

Anazing nobody else wanted him for 6 mil.

Not really though, as everyone knew he was fucking SHITE, hence nobody bid for him.
