I don't get the greed of the sellers you talk about. If a club has a player under contract that another club wants, they have every right to get every single penny they can, and would be fools not to.
Unfortunately it looks like we are now in that position with Sane. He is under contract and we have the right to demand a fee. A fee that is acceptable for the players talent, age , etc, etc.
A player is worth market value, Maguire went for 80m, does that make Leicester greedy? United stupid? It's irrelevant as is the value of any player. It's all about market value.
Sorry i do not want to get into an argumenent over Jonny Fing Evans or football economics whilst still in bed on a Sunday morning. I do care about the way we are painted by the media. Thats all. End of.

We can’t compare Evans to otamendi as at the moment Evans is way way above him and I knowis that is what we don’t want to hear but it’s the truth I’m afraid .

Should have been bought 2 years ago, regardless what the doubters on here said. Would have been happy to sit as 4th/5th choice and had lots of experience in big games. When you've got John Stones who is timid as fuck, Laporte injured and the cluster fuck that Otamendi is, Evans does not look like a bad pick up at all.

This is one of the cases where the guy has been memed so hard that people are afraid to acknowledge that he is a great CB and has always been so because admitting that would mean changing their opinion and in some cases, exposing themselves to look like fools or painfully biased for all the shite they spouted a year or so back. Shame. He's a rag cnut but a very good CB and a leader.

Am i right in saying if he does end up signing we then have to release someone due to squad size?

We have 4 HG which is the max (and are maxed out on foreign players):

Sterling
Stones
Walker
Scott Carson

The obvious omission is Scott Carson. I think you can add/remove GKs outside of the transfer windows so we effectively have a HG space.

When does City start moving away from the likes of Evans/Maguire to Koulibaly/DeLigt ?
Agreed with you, but i think City do have moved on from them. From what Sam Lee has been reporting, Ruben Dias seems to be Citys most likely CB target in january, as he has got a 52 m £ release clause. Only problem is to offload Otamendi. My bet is that Ota goes on a loan + obligation to buy kinda deal to Valencia, and we bring in Dias.

These stories are just lazy, pathetic, predictable journalism.
No way would you be interested, and no way would Leicester sell.

Shame on such journalism, but oh....hold on.....I have partly legitamised it.
