Jorginho

Chelsea’s reported willingness to pay €60m for Napoli midfielder Jorginho could finally send Maurizio Sarri to Stamford Bridge.

According to Tuttosport, Napoli President Aurelio De Laurentiis wants to involve Jorginho in his negotiations with Chelsea counterpart Roman Abramovich.

The Blues’ reluctance to pay Sarri’s €8m release clause before May 31 was followed by the Partenopei refusing to accept a discount for a Coach.

However, the newspaper believes an agreement rests with Jorginho, who had been heavily linked with Manchester City.

It is claimed Chelsea are ready to offer €60m for the Italo-Brazilian – some €10m more than what Manchester City were willing to pay.

In doing that, the Londoners would exceed Sarri’s exit clause – despite it no longer being valid – and let the pair continue working together.

Pretty much as I predicted.....

So the logic is that Chelsea are low balling £8m on a coach but high balling £10m on a player ? Hmmmm

It's actually strange how flat I mean about this signing. Nothing to do with the quality of the player, more to do with how it seems to have dragged on. It's getting to the point that I think I would be more excited about what City's next move if we did not get him.

Or like Rodwell, Garcia, Maicon, Sinclair, Mangala and Fernando

Both transfer windows after league wins have been monumentally disappointing and likely played a big part in us not retaining the league.
Very valid point and hopefully we will get the 2/3 quality additions we need. We do need them in my opinion. Some people seem to think we just have to turn up next season and collect the trophy. But to retain the league (we were woeful during previous attempts) requires craft, hard work and clever investment. Remember we kick off against the Gooners not with 100 points but zero.

Agree, but we are currently in a stronger position squad-wise than we were after both of those Premiership wins. Still, the WC and our players’ involvement in the latter stages complicates matters (we can’t afford a slow start to the 2018/9 campaign) and now is the time show our rivals that we mean business by making a couple of quality new signings. I, for one, am confident we’ll do so.

let me ask you do you think having a player agreed and the contract done Instead of signing him then letting him leave we let him have a 2 week holiday giving other clubs a chance to sign him. Or not willing to pay a smaller fee and telling the player to wait till the summer giving other clubs the chance to sign him. Don't u think we could've done better ?

Your looking at in a really black and white way a player can be fully committed but if depend on that and try to use it to our advantage in negotiations then take too long he could get fed up and he and the club agree a deal with another club. None of these players are city fans they see us as a good opportunity but if another one comes they will be open to it.

Ofcourse we don't know how complex transfers can be or how simple they can be each case is different but just because of that it doesn't make the club immune to any criticism other wise we can't critisize anything about the club.

You cannot criticise if you don't know all the facts - which is what you are doing.

However you clearly know better, so I will stop wasting my time responding to your thought,

Just wish we could reach decision time pdq, particularly as we still have 7 players at the WC whereas Arsenal have only Welbeck left there.

Potentially that’s a huge advantage for the Gunners in our first league game
