i think this week has shown that no one knows f *** on this and the Mahrez transfer.
The truth is that their are not any ITK's - they know nothing, it's either fairy tales or guesses.

We've been here before with city. Where we've missed out on purported first choice signings only to sign second choice that have gone on to prove we dodged a bullet or have been great signings. I'm sure something fell through which allowed us to go on and sign sane. If West brom had not took the piss we would have Evans sitting in the squad now instead of Laporte. Also if Sanchez had not really took the piss we'd have him sitting in the squad with all indications suggesting he s lost a yard pace and his better years may be behind him. Alternatively we appear to be bringing in mahrez. I think this is why I'm relaxed about the jorghinio situation, recent transfers suggest that we cope we tend to cope well with transfer setbacks. Pep may well have his eye on a specific ready made regista type player. However, if this one falls through with his current abilities Kovacic, would be perfect to play with or rotate with ferdy. I think he may also have the ability to develop into the regista type player pep may be after.

We either pay this or move on.

I would be surprised if ADL lowers his price. This coming from a man that reportedly wanted a discount when buying Koulibaly since he read on the internet of a 10cm height difference!

He's makes Levy look like an amateur negotiator. I'm all for not getting ripped off but pick your battles & this isn't one we should waste time & energy on - just ask Sarri!
This what bothers me the most, trying to negotiate with stubborn directors with big reputations. We supposedly had our targets months ago. Did we forget to ask what the absolute price is before we get to where we are today?

But deals fall apart at the last minute all time. The player, his agent, Txiki anyone could believe its going to happen, but until ink is on the contract, anyone of these or more significantly anyone from the selling club, could just change their mind. There is not a single person on the planet who could categorically state a deal is going to happen. But it can look likely.
The thing this week has shown, is that a lot of posters get too emotionally attached to potential transfers

I agree - And I don't think anyone comes on here with the intention of making stuff up. But we do seem to get a lot of "done deal" type posts and "matter of time" posts which often don't materialise into transfers, I just question sometimes where they get there info from.

If Napoli do want 52m according to reports, is that really a bad deal for us?

Let's be honest, if we went all in for Lemina, the bidding would start at 40m minimum especially when we are dealing with PL clubs. Kovacic will cost around 50m anyway and he probably won't even want to leave Madrid given that he will take the reins from Modric someday.

According to reports, we have bid 39m for him. I think Txixi has done a really good job over the lasr few years or so especially since Pep has been in charge, but if he really thinks he is going to get a player of Jorginho's class at 39m and not a penny more, then he is very naive.

People complaining that Liverpool are getting their deals done quickly, don't forget that they aren't dealing with another PL club and an Italian club who have an owner who is a complete tight arse and will suck every single penny out of you... they have dealt with Monaco and Lyon... 2 teams who are nowhere near as difficult to deal with than the 2 clubs we are dealing with.

Txixi should just up the bid to 46m at the very minimum and not have this dragging out until the final day of the window.

I stated that there wouldn't be movement until Mid June at the earliest... maybe I should claim to be ITK as well.

If we miss out on Jorginho due to a few million here and there and their owner doesn't back down and refuses our offer, we have dropped a bollock. Summer plans completely scrapped, back to the drawing board and start again.

We either get first choice targets or we keep what we have got.

Stubborn Txiki has been learning from the past; do not get screwed over, even its a difference of 5 Million-€
