It does seem like he's chosen based on location and wages according to the Napoli president. Wages I get, but location not so much. After all he's been in Napoli for some time and that's not exactly a slice of heaven.

Anyway, I'm sure we'll move on to other targets. No great drama.
 
The MEN just tweeted that they will shortly be posting an update from city and it contradicts everything that’s being reported this morning
 
How do we manage this every single transfer window these days? Think the club need to have a long hard look at themselves and see that we are still not as attractive as we seem to think we. This attitude of take it or leave it is clearly only about 50% effective at best and although we've dodged a couple of bullets it will eventually fuck us over like it did with RVP. Maybe not on an incoming transfer, maybe it'll be Raz or Leroy or Jesus leaving.

DM is the position we absolutely HAVE to get right this summer and the management have pissed about with it. Allowing him to go on holiday allowed even the car crash of a club that is chelsea to sort their act out, line their guns up, and not only make a push but beat us to the line. Oh but Shak the player has messed us about. Yes of course he has, thats what players and agents do. They're bloody incentivised to do so. I work with people who do the exact same thing you just have to minimise that risk by giving them as little opportunity as possible. Not letting them go on a 15 day holiday to the other side of the fucking world. If they say thats not cool them you fuck them off then and gain 15 days of negotiating with your next option.

and the worst part is now we're going to have to spend 2 or 3 times as much to get a player who was our second or third or fourth option.

Given the strength and depth of our squad I was surprised we were going for Jorginho (and to a certain extent Mahrez)

In Prem matches we will dominate possession in the vast majority of, if not all, games, so to give Fernandinho a break against some of the less fancied teams Gundogen can easily sit in there as he has done already as can Delph
 
Tbh if he has chosen Chelsea because he prefers to live in London you wonder if he’s got his priorities all wrong and just how committed is he to his football

If he turns out to be faster than he looks, or his lack of pace doesn't affect his performances Ill eat humble pie all day long. However, until then I remain a little worried about this potential signing.
 
Am i wrong or is ADL turning out to be a bigger fraud than we initially thought? Seems like Txiki is about brief media about something?

Trying to rely on Fernandinho and Gundogan would be standing still, it's an area where we were already massively exposed last season by any potential injury to Fern, and with him another year older and having no summer break there's every chance he either gets injured or his form drops because of fatigue. There is a reason Pep was going to spend so much on a defensive midfielder and it wasn't because it was a luxury he didn't need.

I've not said it's the end of the world either, I said we need to do what we set out to do - buy a very good defensive midfielder - that's all.

Why is it that anyone saying "we need to line up a replacement" is being told they're screaming about the sky falling? It's just pointing out the obvious truth, if this falls through, we need another player instead.
