But Gundogan's best games were when he played as 6 against Arsenal, Chelsea & Arsenal.

If Jorginho was happy with our offer as reported, the only spanner in the works will be the Chavs offering more money to Napoli. However if they've also offered more money to Jorginho & he's tempted after a gentleman's agreement with us, then we should rightly fuck him off & move on.

HOWEVER, not so long ago Sanchez tried this stunt with City, & before we'd even given him our reply we announced to the world we'd ended our interest in him. The Sanchez to ManUre rumours started about a week before we announced we were dropping our interest, so it remains to be seen if:

1. This is just Chelsea offering more money, & Napoli trying to get an auction going.

or

2. The player being interested in more money, reuniting with Sarri & living in London which is why he's being reported as being there already.

We know 1 has been reported, but 2 has all come from Napoli. We've been here before as with RVP, Isco, Sanchez, Hazard & Alves, but we've survived to break a multitude of records last season. We'll be OK regardless, & in the meantime, we've just gotta keep the faith with Txiki, Soriano & Khaldoon.

What an intrigue. Has he not heard of email, video conferencing etc

We might have been a bit taken aback by the turn of events, but I bet Txiki and co knew that there was a Sarri factor. However knowing it was a potential deal breaker doesn't mean we could do anything about it other than hope that appeal of City would outweigh that of Chelsea. At the moment Chelsea look to be in complete disarray. Seems amazing that on one hand they are prepared to gazump us, and then on the other they want to save money by not settling with Conte.
 
It does seem strange that we are briefing the local press that he has had no contact with Chelsea and seem oblivious to the fact he flew into London this morning....Feels like when we were briefing the press that Alves was as good as done while at the same time he was in Paris doing a medical for PSG. As long as we get cover/replacement for Fern I'm at a point where I dont care who we sign!;)

At some point you can only take people at their word.

City briefing as they are, can only be as a result of speaking directly to his agent at some point during today.

The agent could well have lied to buy them some more time, but there has to be a judgement call from City, having worked with all the parties involved.

Even that seems odd though. If he's waiting for white smoke within 24 hours why not stay there. Surely they'll want him in training etc and he'll want to start sorting out all the usual moving to another country stuff.
