Jose Angel Pozo

Seb, thanks for the clips, unfortunately I was distinctly underwhelmed by Pozo's performance in the compiliation, from these clips IMO he looks very "ordinary".

Last week I went with my 10 year old son and his school team to "The Cliff" United's second training ground, (spits),where local Manchester schools were attending a mini football comp and scouting session. There were 2 local school boys with much more talent IMO. (Unfortunately neither was my son!) I'm sure United will be looking to sign them up for their academy. City should be doing similar initiatives.

I understand it would be foolish to make decisions solely on selective footage.

I hope he turns into a good acquisition.

Comparing ten year olds at the swamp to U17's playing against Barca. With the greatest respect: nonsense.

I too have watched 100s of games at that level & he looks better than most to me. That's not to say he will make it as the differece between U17s & the Prem is almost as great as the difference between 10 year olds & U17 but not quite. Lee Croft was Pele at that age.
Fair comments regarding player development, (although one of school kids was magnificent!)

Spanish media are claiming there are some buy-back clauses in the contract where Madrid could buy him back in a few years

Manchester City are understood to have won the race to land Real Madrid starlet Jose Angel Pozo.

The 15-year-old forward has agreed terms with City, and will sign a five-year deal in March on his 16th birthday.

City have persuaded Pozo to move to England, rather than continue his football education at the Santiago Bernabeu.

Pozo is also reported to have shunned offers from Arsenal and Liverpool to join City.

City have also taken the step of agreeing a compensation deal with Real and it is believed they will pay an initial €200,000 although reports in England claim the deal could eventually be worth £5million.

However, it is also claimed in Spain that there are clauses in the deal which will allow him to move back to Real in 2014 and 2015 for set amounts.

The Malaga-born youngster is expected to fly to England next with his family to tie up the move.

Wasn't he at the U16 game the other day?

I am offended. I spent quite a lot of time and energy crafting the narative of that compilation. Although it was obviously wasted on you, my underlying motifs were of adolescent angst and disenfranchisement in a completely commercialised enterprise. Jose portrays a conflicted youth, struggling to find meaning in this increasingly histrionic existence. With each touch of the ball he screams for guidance and acceptance.

I plan to submit it to Sundance and Cannes.

Damn...you beat me to it.. :)

I did no such thing. How dare you imply I would "beat" you to it. It is not that sort of compilation.

If I was of that persuasion and felt inclined to beat you to anything it would be Les Misérables. Something about it excites my loins.

Hey now come on keep me out of this!

It was too difficult to hide my lust. I feel ashamed.

On a serious note, though, Pozo looks to be the real thing.
