Jose for City? (merged)

Whilst everybody knows where I sit in this debate, I will say that one swallow doesn't make a summer and we flattered to deceive yesterday. Whilst we played well, the drubbing came because Sunderland played awful.

Anybody changing their position now is an idiot. We comfortably beat a struggling team at home who barely showed up. If we can repeat this performance at Anfield, at Wembley then at Ewood, it shows that we have turned a corner.

Just like the 2-0 at Chelsea wasn't an indication of anything, neither is the 5-0.

Whilst that sounds great, can you name me one poster that has changed their position?

More or less, I agree. I haven't changed my position; I feel it's been reinforced. Mancini is an excellent manager although I still feel Mourinho would be a step up in certain areas.

Where I don't quite agree is twofold. Firstly, it always takes a team playing badly for another team to stomp them; however, that can be as big a confidence boost as beating a big team who is playing well. In that regard, I'm very happy as I think the Sunderland result can carry us quite a ways. Secondly, I don't think we deceived really. We played at our potential. It happens from time to time. ;)

Yeah, but that 2-0 defeat brought about this thread and the ensuing 180 pages of shiiiiitte.

Steady progress (like we're experiencing now) is all I wanted. Those that were patient and unreactionary shall see their position vindicated.

And for every win between now and the end of the season, I'll bump this thread and confront them with their folly.

Thats fair enough and i would probably do the same but remember we have to win first and god forbid a loss or poor performance will bring an opposite reaction from many and until the first ball of next season is kicked in anger i wouldn't go celebrating too loudly just yet if i was you.

Now that's me being smug ;-)

This...whilst we took our chances yesterday we did not play with a flourish for the whole game...there were passages of play early second half that were reminiscent of Fulham at home and had Sunderland turned up we might have been in amuch more difficult game. That said it was pleasing to see chances going in and there's nowt like a 5-0 win to banish the blues from the Chelsea loss...The team can now set a real focus going forward and every game we have to play yet is winnable....and loseable ;)
I do feel very confident that this squad has developed mentally since last year and we are more than ready for the final push. To come back so strong after Chelsea away is a very very good sign. A win at Anfield and I think we can take Utd on at Wembley with a more positive approach.

I think you will find that the criticism has been aimed at Bobby because we all know just "how good" a side we are and can be!

I am honest in my admiration for a manager i consider to be the best out there and i wont apologise for that.

That said this job belongs to Bobby and it has always been up to Bobby to convince everyone that he is the rightful man for the job.

More of what we saw yesterday and there wont be anything to discuss but is it sadly a case of too little too late?

The often branded phrase "knee jerk" works both ways as well you know.

What's with the massive fucking thread called 'Jose for City', then?

Look, I'm not being 'knee-jerk'. I've stated from the start that I think Bobby'll get us into the CL places. I've stated that the slump in form was due to the demands of Europa League football, coupled with injuries. I stated that we'd improve after the international break. We did. I'm not suddenly jumping on a Mancini In bandwagon, chum - I've been here all the time.

You, on the other hand, and a few others, went overboard with negativity following the Chelsea result. You showed little understanding of how football actually works, and seem to equate money spent with instant results. Your complete lack of class is all over this thread and that's why I'm here today, giving you shit - it's not 'knee-jerk', the word you're looking for is 'smug'.

The reaction to the 2-0 defeat was in my opinion justified because it once again showed that we didn't have the balls to have a go at one of the top sides with the players at our disposal.

Stoke played Chelsea off the park on Saturday as they took the game to them and if it wasn't for Cech would of come away with 3 points.

It's frustration ST Coleridge.....nothing more......nothing less, in that i know we can do it but persist with being scared to lose rather than having a go to win.

I really hope he proves me wrong and i'll hold my hands up if he does, but this is why i feel we wont win any big prizes with Mancini (Prem + Champs League) as when it comes to the big games he strangles our players with his tactics.

All the above is just my humble opinion of course.........
