I think if we are to lose Gundo/Bernardo, his signing would be crucial. A midfield controller we have been crying out for. Versatile, one of the best midfielders in the world. For me, a chance to sign a player like Kimmich, Pep's baby, is truly unique. How perfect is that? Cancelo was great for us for many years, but he is inconsistent as a hothead. Finally, if Cancelo doesn't stay at Bayern, we can forget anyone gives us more than 50m for him, probably less with his wages. Because of all that, I reckon it would be worth giving them up to 50 million + Cancelo.

I really like Rice, but Kimmich is up there with KDB, Bernardo, etc. Rice has a long way to go if he wants to get there.
Gvardiol has already agreed to join us, and a younger (28, but still 5-6 years easily at the top) midfielder would refresh our aging midfield nicely and importantly, only better its standard. I can't think of a more significant signing than this guy. He can cover pretty much all positions at the world-class level :).

It sounds more and more like Gundo is staying which is great news but regardless we need to strengthen MF, younger fresher legs and more athleticism.

Gundo, KDB getting older and more leggy, Rodri getting abused in terms of game time.

I certainly agree he's a great midfielder and think he would make a great signing.
I slightly disagree that we are crying out for a midfield controller..
It is one area that we have exerted huge control over throughout Peps stay. Not averse to having other great midfielders especially if one or both of Gundoghan and Bernardo leave, which currently looks likely.
 
Doesn't Bayern hate our guts? Probably sell too Barca cheap before even talking to City.
 
If we are to lose Gundog or Bernie, then I cant see City fucking about. The centre of midfield is the most vital part of Pep's team, so they wont settle for second best. I can see them making a move for a huge player like Kimmich if they lose out on Bellingham. Its still a long shot though.
