Joshua Kimmich

Kimmich can play at every position across defence and midfield. He's a fantastic and versatile player with a Pep-esque work ethic.

Too small? Ridiculous statement
Yeah maybe. I still think we prefer Rodri (1.91cm) to Kimmich (1.77cm) in the mid if we have the choice. Maybe there's a reason we have Rodri and not Kanté.
"Vastly unproven as a 8" another ridiculous statement since that's been his position at Bayern for a while now
I thought Kimmich plays the right double pivot in a 4-2-3-1, no?

5'11". Taller than Makelele, Kante and our own Nigel De Jong. Same height as Gattuso. Might look short in a German league full of lanky fuckers from Central Europe and the Balkans though tbf. Although if he's big enough for the Bundesliga...

I follow Kimmich's development since Stuttgart youth matches. When I try to assess the personality I much more listen to (many) interviews than watching matches. But you're right, I didn't talk to him. Like you can't know Pep's thoughts. Or do you believe Pep would tell publicly what he really thinks about other club's players??
If you think Kimmich is a positive person like Gundo, Bernardo, Dias, Rodri, Aké or Akanji we should just agree to diasgree.
I based this on what Pep has said about him in the past, publicly. Sure, he hasn't said anything recently, but why would his opinion of Kimmich change? If anything, our interest shows he must still think of him highly. Personality is a big factor when we sign players. The club mentions that a lot.

To conclude, I don't know if he is a positive person like our other players, but I would certainly not question Pep's opinion since he knows the guy personally. That's why I was surprised when you mentioned his personality as the deciding factor. For all I know, you might be right, but I hope you are not because I rate him as a footballer.

Sure he is, and sure my impression might be overcautious.

Funny how much we speculate about players we never talked to, about fitness or injuries when we never see them in training and never can ask the physios - and the list goes on.

We must be happy to kill some time while emitting CO2 only to avoid boredom. Oops, before I get more philosophical I'll turn to the early team leaks speculations... Enjoy the match! :)
