Joshua Kimmich

Kimmich has a lot, but also is a difficult person. Overambitious with a negative sentiment. He's not a leader, and especially not a positive leader. If he was an option for Txiki, he would have to be sure our squad can manage his personality (thinking about Cancelo I think we are very risk aware in that department, thankfully).

He's too small for a PL 6 and vastly unproven as an 8.

Bayern's team is a mess. They have loads of squad problems. But Kimmich is the heart of their mid and they'd rather sell Goretzka. In fact Bayern as a club can't let Kimmich go.

On the other hand Kimmich loves Pep's football, not that Tuchel stuff.

Personally I would be glad we miss out on him.

Pep clearly disagrees with all of that. He loves him as a player and as a person, especially his ambition. How can you even know any of this is another subject, even if you watched every single Bayern match for many years. We don't know him personally, the same way we don't know Man City players personally, so we base our judgment on what Pep and the team thinks of certain players. Bayern sees him as their leader, they made that clear, so I do not know what is this based on.

I follow Kimmich's development since Stuttgart youth matches. When I try to assess the personality I much more listen to (many) interviews than watching matches. But you're right, I didn't talk to him. Like you can't know Pep's thoughts. Or do you believe Pep would tell publicly what he really thinks about other club's players??
If you think Kimmich is a positive person like Gundo, Bernardo, Dias, Rodri, Aké or Akanji we should just agree to diasgree.

Good to have this perspective.
