There’s been shouts for Gvardiol sale to help them in getting Geertruida and Lukeba over the line. Remains to be seen. Maybe that’s why the agents are pushing the news out publicly to get this done while City are waiting to sort a few exits before getting him? Laporte being the main one, just thinking out loud. I spoke to Grealish's dad in Munich mate. He said City and Villa were negotiating for months, but Villa weren't selling him at any price. They had tried to negotiate with Villa for a good 6 months.There was never an issue because we never had to deal with Villa or Purslow for that matter. Just paid the release clause and that’s that.

We walk away and we are dumb. The alternative is not going to be at the same level or potential as Gvardiol. Talking about a defender that should’ve been young player of the tournament at the World Cup at 20 years of age.

When the player has 4 years left on his contract, and the selling club have already brought in 150m euros this summer, it's not really a negotiation. Pay the price or walk away, Leipzig have no reason to compromise.Setting a price that can be negotiated is different from a release clause that can’t.
