When the player has 4 years left on his contract, and the selling club have already brought in 150m euros this summer, it's not really a negotiation. Pay the price or walk away, Leipzig have no reason to compromise.

They do if the player has made it clear he wants to leave and the club buying him offers a price they deem acceptable.

Leipzig aren’t going to say “the price is x but we’d be open to accepting a lower offer”.

Laporte killed his knee for us. He has lost so much speed and can’t play that outside CB. He deserves so much credit for what he did but I don’t think you can even compare the two at this point. For Laporte to play in our current setup he’s basically cover for Dias
