I'm amazed some poster think that the board should resign if we don't get him! Just wow. The board haven't made many mistakes in the transfer market since they took over us so I'll give them some credit.

At the end of the day, they've had a lot of money in for the Szoboszalai and Nkunku and - rightfully - don't want to be seen as a club who just sell any time an offer comes in. Look how we are with Bernardo for example! I'm sure Barcelona fans aren't saying their board should be sacked if they can't bring him in!

There's obviously something going on and some wrangling behind the scenes. Will we get him? No idea. But I trust the board, Pep and the players. I'm 100% sure that if we don't get him, we will get someone else in who will improve us - like Dias did when we couldn't get Koulibaly.

I said surplus with all the wage spending accounted for. we are swimming in cash surplus. if our board cannot get Gvardiol then the entire board should resign in shame. we are at the pinnacle of football with a treble and we are getting pushed around by nobodies like arsenal and RB leipzig. if they cannot do their jobs and act like a big club then fukin resign.
Yes the entire board should resign. The fucking wankers only went and made us commercially one of the top clubs in the world, the demented fuckers pissed us off by not winning 1 out of the last 6 premier leagues, and to add insult to injury they inflicted the likes of Haaland KDB Grealish Rodri Dias Walker Ederson Stones Bernardo Alvarez Akanji Ake etc on us. I mean what have City’s board ever done for us? Oh yeah the bad cunts made us have a truly world class academy. Useless clueless cunts

Good post mate . Tbh I don’t think we get him as it’s looking like we won’t pay the extra £15 million or so to secure this transfer which in turn will be one of our few blunders . Of course it’s crazy to say sack the board but it’s also crazy to haggle over this fee as this player could solve our defence for years. We will know the outcome of this deal by the weeks end I think

Our business model with transfers is usually built around getting players to agree a deal with us and not listen to other offers so we can negotiate with their clubs without it turning into a so-called bidding war. The problem with that is we need to usually close deals to convince future players to buy into that model. Suppose Gvardiol has wanted a move this summer and chose us, and it doesn’t happen, why would players accept to close themselves to other clubs in the future if there are no guarantees we get it done. The price tag for Gvardiol has been known for months. It makes no sense to enter a negotiation if we have something agreed with a player but no intention of paying the price. How many times can you make the same mistake?

I do wonder myself at times. Spurs wanted £100m+ for Kane, Koulibaly was similar, Gvardiol, Messi etc. We do sometimes just seem to go in for players but baulk at the cost. I'm sure there's a good reason we do it such as stopping paying inflated prices but I sometimes just wish for the sake of a few million we'd pay the money to save our time and energy!

Think levy wouldn’t of sold Kane for 120m he didn’t even pick the phone up as pep said and now levy is quoting 120m in the media to Bayern and I bet he won’t even sell him for anything under 100m minimum

@jrb - No, I said they'd not made many mistakes. Of the all the players we've bought and sold I think that they've done a FAR better job than other other club in the world.

It’s the same with Rice. West Ham had been saying £120M for a long while. Arsenal offer £100M and we pull our claiming the moral high ground? Lol give me a break. Cucurella was another. We actually believed Brighton would just cave in. He probably listened to Chelsea after seeing we weren’t being serious, and I can’t blame him and his agent for it

That’s why you pay extra for a new car as opposed to a used car. It‘s better and lasts longer. Just like Gvardiol would do at 21 years old.

Just pay the fucking money! Get him signed, and let him, the other players, and Pep deliver a fourth consecutive PL title, which will make that £15mill-£10mill back and more.

We do appear to have some very ungrateful fans. I despair at times. Be thankful for what we have achieved and trust the people in charge.
