Just bought butter for £2. Same butter is £1.75 in the shop down the road. I've overpaid for my butter.
No you've not. You paid what was (and you clearly believed to be) the 'correct' price. If you already knew that you could get the same product 25p cheaper down the road you should have bought it there. If you didn't already know it was cheaper down the road, you have is buyer's remorse.
You have however learned a very valuable lesson about the value of shopping around. That lesson may have cost you 25p, but it could save you a fortune in the future.
