We need to finish this deal.

First Marc Cucurella then Josko Gvardiol, both showed clear interest to join, agreed with us on terms and did all they can do to push the club. We can not hang players out dry again and again.

Yes Cucurella played bad at Chelsea but it does not change the business part.

The valuation for Cucurella was ridiculous, glad we walked. Hung out to dry as well? He was off to Chelsea in a nanosecond as soon as we cooled.

Just seeing what a difference Dias made to the side with his quality and vocal leadership I think more of those attributes in the side is worth plenty. If he’s as good as people are saying then between Dias, Stones & Gvardiol you won’t find a better set of CBs anywhere in the world. And they all carry longevity because of their ages.

When you see him defend it’s very Dias like. Theres a reason the Croatian head coach said he’s already the best defender in the world. At the World Cup he was Croatia’s overall best player, and they finished 3rd.

When you see him attack, it’s very much like Stones. Last season he averaged more touches, more successful passes, and a higher accuracy than any other RB Leipzig player. He made 4.4 progressive passes per 90 minutes in the Bundesliga last season, higher than any defender in the PL. At the World Cup only Rodri and Stones made more line breaking passes. His shot creating actions were also higher than most of our midfielders last season. If Leipzig had better finishers he could’ve had 10 assists.

He would be perfect in the pivot role like Stones or as an auxiliary full back. But Pep may decide to turn him into a midfielder. Hope we get this over the line.
