Going to properly fuck me off if we back out of this one. Given his prospective ceiling, and Pep's clear admiration rendering him a priority, the club should have paid Leipzig's fee ages ago. We agreed personal terms the best part of a month ago, so where's the hold up? You can bet a penny to a pound of shit someone will beat us to his signature if we don't get it done.

This has become an overused term on here to the point where it is nearly irrelevant. I've seen genuine "flapping" in game threads and even postgame threads, most of the people on here I just trying digest what are offseason plan is. Furthermore, missing out on our top 2 midfield targets is worth a bit of concern.

Irrelevant. The reality is we've been in for these players in the past, so must have seen something in them to make them worth the interest in the first place. There are only so many times we'll "not regret" signing our primary targets. Rice could be worth an extra 10pts to Arsenal next season. Likewise not signing cover for Rodders (again), could hamstring us.

It's not clear that we were ever properly ‘in’ for Bellingham, given his stated preference. But you can sure he's one Pep and everybody in the team would like to have had.

Apparently the fact Liverpool are clearly talking to RB Leipzig about Szoboszlai and Carvalho has spooked people a touch.

Think there was one article suggesting Leipzig would not let Gvardiol and Szoboszlai leave in the same window and with Liverpool suddenly so close to the latter, some are flapping.

Only two more months till the window closes, you know.

Being serious, we've liked to get our essential transfer business done early in recent seasons, and I'd say that's a good strategy (it's certainly worked if results are anything to go by). I'd like to see this done within the next week or so.
