So the narrative is we are in negotiations. For what? To win the net spend trophy? To look good for the media (lol)? To look tough for future transfers (we already proved it in the past that we would walk away)? We lost our leverage with the Szoboszlai tansfer.

Txiki will perhaps save max. €10m & will get applause from no one (not even Mansour).
What utter tosh and clear evidence you have zero understanding of how a business is run. The money we save, in your instance £10m, pays wages be it staff, players or anyone for what it’s worth.
Also if City just cough up £5m here or £10m there then every deal we do going forward means we get that amount added on. Of course we can afford the extra money but that’s not how business’ operate, I’m sure you could afford an extra £10 being added when filling your car but does that mean you should or have to? No!
Successful companies and individuals don’t become that way by just flirting away their money for the shits n giggles.

So this is Gvardiol while aged only 20 making a mistake against somebody regarded as the greatest of all time by many, even Maldini came unstuck against Maradona and Ronaldo during the 80s/90s so had to purposely foul them just to stop both at times.

Something that Gvardiol could've done in that clip 25-35 years ago and easily gotten away with it, you can't judge somebody based on one or two heavily scrutinised moments, especially against someone arguably in the discussion as being the greatest ever.
Why bother? Save your energy...

How is the transfer "getting closer" if we havent even made a bid? And on a side note did sky always use this stupid "advanced talks " phrase. Really gets on my tits

Any multi million pound deal is complex whatever the business sector.
Our owner lends banks billions so is used to helping both buyers and sellers do things in a tax efficient way which may involve accountants from both parties as well as legal personnel.
Try

The media fixates on the concept of submitting the formal bid which is strange and doesn't make sense. We know Txiki is talking numbers with Leipzig right now, so he probably won't bother to submit until they agree to terms. In essence why write it up more than once when you can commit it to paper just once.
