stating the obvious but if he is going to be on the tour flight next wednesday then it needs to be done today/tomorrow so he can join the group back on monday and spend a couple of days bedding into the squad?

I don't disagree entirely but we are on record as a club which is reluctant to tie people down against their wishes. We are very likely to let him leave if the price is right. But of course this is more likely to happen if a replacement can be found. That is pure logic.
If a club came in with an £80m bid on the last day of the window & Berny wanted to go, It would be accepted. Berny wanting to go is the important part though as he's only interested in Barca & Benfica, who don't have the money

Im always curious why teams never try and sign the replacement for the big name player, go who dortmund leipzig are after buying not who they are selling

Because the big clubs can’t afford to spend the time to bring those players through with Championships and Cup trophies on the line.

We only hear about the ones that make it big, not the 80-90% you never hear of that don’t end up at a Top 8 CL club.

fair point , was just thinking out loud which is never a good idea

I think the point made above is partly correct in that it’s a business decision to let clubs like Brighton and Brentford try the players out in the PL first and then we pay them for taking the risk in the form of a large transfer fee.

However, we do sometimes follow their model of a sort. Akanji being the most recent example.

but didn’t you buy akanji from dortmund? that’s really a typical example of buying a player from a bundesliga top club.

gvardiol had multiple offers with i think less than 10 games for senior dinamo zagreb team, bielsa really wanted him in leeds and it was the best offer when it comes to money so even dinamo pressured him. he decided to sign for leipzig because they offered to loan him back to dinamo immediately and let him play there until upamecano leaves, and presented him with a good strategy for his development.

i think signing too early for a top pl club is the best way to ruin your career imho.

Croatian fans here are shit , can’t even tell their friends to go tom cruise style and find out wtf is going on ?
i’m very sorry for being such a failure. i have no ninja and/or special ops skills.
i drink and i know things though!
