Gvardiol is getting tired of trimming his beard in the airport bathroom…Come on Txiki help the man
Cherki has had a very good season no doubt but he was struggling prior with injuries and lack of focus at certain points. Social media always jumps the gun for players like this. It’s the shiny new toy syndrome maybe. Wirtz has been doing it for a couple seasons now, and the best part is despite his big injury he came back and had a stellar campaign. French football will always produce another Cherki or someone like, just my opinion. I could be wrong if he goes Chelsea and is unbelievable, remains to be seen.
Wirtz is a good player but getting him would just seal the deal that Pep doesn't see Phil playing centrally and to me, that would be more than disappointing.
You pre-suppose that defenders play in defence. If Bernardo stays
If Mahrez stays
If KDB can stay injury free
If Phillips turns his City career around
Too many questions marks in midfield and forward areas for me where we could require investment to replace/stregthen.
I’m just surprised we’re investing so much in the defence when it’s the strongest area of the squad and probably the best it’s ever been.
Exactly my point. Foden is/was supposed to be KDB's successor. He's an attacking midfielder by trade turned winger. He's waited for his opportunity to get a real run there long enough all while taking every opportunity that's come in the meantime. Aren't we all tired of seeing him hugging a touchline and his brilliance being limited to one side of the pitch? I know I am.Wirtz is the long term KDB replacement if we are going for him.

City finalising deal for Gvardiol with RB today. Hopeful of announcement end of today.
Ha haDid I used to see you walking outside Maine Road with a front and back sign stating the end was nigh ?
Has a bit of De Bruyne about him even at 20 years and 2 months.
City are not going to spend 80m pounds on someone and loan them for a year or twoIf we could buy him now & loan him back to Leverkusen for a season or two, until KDB's ready to hang up his boots, we may be in with a fighting chance.
However, there's Bayern who believe all decent German players are theirs...

Then wrap the deal up in 48 hours haha.wait till the chelsea in for him rumours later this afternoon
Why? We've bought lots of players after they've gone back to their clubs for pre season.I've been optimistic about this transfer, but it does concern me that we let him return to Leipzig camp. I would have thought we would have completed it before then.
And baffle everybody on here with the simple concept that if you just pay the asking price you get the playerThen wrap the deal up in 48 hours haha.
They were usually deals toward the end of the window, whilst this has been rambling on since what seems like the start of the window. Why? We've bought lots of players after they've gone back to their clubs for pre season.
