Well as nobody has mentioned any walking away, no worries.. But in the unlikely event we did, we’d be okay.

They do if the player has made it clear he wants to leave and the club buying him offers a price they deem acceptable.

Leipzig aren’t going to say “the price is x but we’d be open to accepting a lower offer”.

It’s a negotiation.

Which is why we won't walk away. There aren't alternatives. They want Gvardiol, he's the best young defender about.

Leipzig are in a position of strength. The release clause of 97m kicks in next year, and they are using this as a power tool. It's all posturing, City will pay the money.

This isn't Koulibaly, Sanchez or others. This is Gvardiol. The Haaland of Defenders. Txiki, Pep and others know this.

Laporte killed his knee for us. He has lost so much speed and can’t play that outside CB. He deserves so much credit for what he did but I don’t think you can even compare the two at this point. For Laporte to play in our current setup he’s basically cover for Dias

Pace, dribbling, versatility. Confidently stating Laporte can do the same things he can while the club are looking at making him the most expensive defender of all time is certainly a choice!

Gvardiol doesn’t leak to his journalist friend about the clubs plans when he’s not happy, major reason Pep might be not be playing Laporte even when we have injuries back there.

There is another option which is that Romano was right about Gvardiol having done part of his medical, Leipzig didn’t know and found out from the leak, and that pissed them off. Explains the quote from Rose earlier maybe? I know some will not like this theory (it’s just that) as it puts us in a not so great light
 
All the talk of done deal was very premature then.

Happens every now and again such as Kane, etc.
