This... I still haven't lost faith in Laporte. I'll remind everyone he finished out a season for us on a knee that later needed an operation. Based on absolutely nothing but speculation I maintain that something happened between him and Pep to just be almost completely blackballed from getting into the team. I know he and Aguero are very close with that one reporter. I always thought he was leaking out things and Pep found out. Again, I'm just speculating.

Although if we do miss out on Gvaridol, center back is arguably the one position in world football where there's always a supply of quality.

Laporte as great as he is and I am thankful for all that he's done. The issue is he doesn't fit the new system unless your dropping Ruben which isn't going to happen. He doesn't have the pace to play the Ake/akanji role hence why he hardly featured..... The issue with pep is that laporte is known to be a sad face guy when not playing which pep doesn't like he also leaks to his jorno mate which doesn't help his cause neither..... I think he needs to go play regularly somewhere and deserves to do so because he's not going to get that here with this new system.

Fabrizio posted a video on YouTube, says RB Leipzig was unhappy that the verbal agreement was leaked. I’d assume that means City told the agent, agent went to Fabrizio.

Overall, doesn’t sound like a deal breaker. He says they’ll speak in the “next days” to get things moving again. I think they may just hold Gvardiol hostage so to speak until they get Lukeba (replacement) confirmed.

If he’s signed it will probably/hopefully be that he’s with us for x10yrs - a pre season tour isn’t that important in the big scheme of things, in order to get the deal right for both him and the club. Patience.

Laporte is a class act, pace apart.

Agree it's not difficult to work out that Slabhead is £80 (€92m) and they keep repeating they want to make Gvardol the most expensive defender.

So everyone (clubs especially) will know that they are getting €92m minimum.
