Josko Gvardiol

You said he needs to cut it out, now your saying coaching won’t eradicate it. Which is it?
Dias slides in plenty he’s learnt to control and time it.
It is mentality (decision making) issue not a coaching one. He made a few glaring mistakes in the second leg against us despite his fellow defenders not being much better (or even worse in that). You can't really coach that. Dias isn't as guilty as both Otamendi and Gvardiol. At £80m you do expect better regardless of age.

Still can't ignore that mistake. Plenty of teams would exploit that to the fullest. As I said at times Otamendi got caught out by that when he played for us.
At least he had a go. A couple of years ago we would have had cancello and zinchenko rolling around on the floor for 5 minutes by the time it went in the net.

While I agree with the other two you do expect a bit more composure in that situation especially with his hefty price tag. Same with the rest who of the supporters who highly rate Gvardiol I am not fully on board with the hype and I totally get why the club is hesitant in paying what RB Leipzig want.

It was just a joke but yeah, I don’t want him doing that for us. But then again I don’t think he would. It’s a meaningless game for a team he doesn’t want to play for anymore.

I loved Otamendi but if he did cost the same as what Gvardiol is going for I would be questioning is he worth the price tag.

I’m confused as to how he was caught out… he tried to block the shot as he wouldn’t have gotten to the man in time?

Dias gets creamed over (mainly by me) for making the same manoeuvre multiple times a game sometimes, the difference only being that 9/10 they don’t bobble over the keeper.

It led to the winner and he can't be doing that in the Premier League as he would be regularly rinsed. Pre season or not it is not the most convincing piece of skill. Dias is a lot more composed defender than Gvardiol. Anyway I'll leave it as it is a partly jokey thread and I am getting a little serious with this.

One clip
He’s 21
He’s never played under Pep
Jesus Christ, he’s not even signed for us yet and Bluemoon is at him already FFS

It isn't one clip it was happening during the second leg and a few time during the Bundesliga season. At £80m you expect a bit more composure in his play. Regardless of his age. It seems few are have a bit of a blind spot with Gvardiol. As I said I can get the clubs point in not coughing up. It is one hell of an investment.

Never fails to amaze me Longy, unfuckingbelievable.
It still not one clip. As said I loved Otamendi but he was good but not one of the greatest of defenders. I am not flapping but just giving an honest (but yes it is a bit boring) opinion

Nathan Ake responds to Man City transfer interest in Josko Gvardiol

The competition for places in Man City's defence could get even fiercer next season with the Blues keen to sign Josko Gvardiol.

Nathan Ake says he would welcome Josko Gvardiol at Man City as talks continue over his potential transfer this summer.
City are in the market for a new left-footed centre-back with Aymeric Laporte expected to leave the club during the transfer window.
The Blues have made Gvardiol their top defensive target, though there is still plenty of work to be done before the Croat could become a City player.

It was claimed last week that Gvardiol was set to undergo a medical after the two clubs found an agreeable fee for the highly rated 21-year-old defender. However, this was quickly dismissed and the player travelled with his current club to Italy for their pre-season training camp rather than heading for the exit door.
Whatever happens, Ake says he would welcome defensive reinforcement this summer despite the fact Gvardiol would potentially rival him for playing time.
When asked about the club’s ongoing interest in the RB Leipzig centre-back, he told reporters in Tokyo: “No, it's good. I think whoever comes in is going to be a challenge for the positions the people play at.

“That's what this club does, bringing new people, making sure everyone is on their toes, making sure everyone's ready and to help the team to achieve new things again.
"I'm sure if it's all true and if it's happening then it will be a great addition and it means we have to fight, everyone has to fight for the sport, everyone has to do well and that keeps the bar set high.”
Ake believes the strong competition for places is a reason why City have become such a formidable side, while the club’s non-playing staff also deserve huge credit for continuously motivating the players to improve.
He added: “I think the thing is the club hires people who demand that of each other, who have all got the same mentality. I'm not just talking about players, but also about what I said before, the phyios, the staff, everyone keeps making sure we are on our toes and not slacking off with all the little rules and stuff they keep in place and make sure we do the same as we did before.

“I think that's a big thing and also the players who they are bringing in always have the mentality as well and I think everything just then clicks together and we go again, I think that that's just the mentality. No one lets it slip up and especially the manager.”
Ake is class...
