I'm still hopeful that we could get another season out of Yaya, it would be marvelous if he could be here to help mentor and integrate Pogba. I suppose at the end of the day it will depend on the kind of bids we get for him - if we could still get in excess of £25mil then I'd be tempted but if get tossers offering us £10mil then I'd be inclined to convince him to stay.
Yaya has plenty of time left. Deserves to retire here in my opinion. He's not that old for a midfielder plus his holding play and shooting is still brilliant. Players like him don't just lose their ability when they hit mid-30s.

Lampard proves that point exactly

If Juventus, or anyone, offered us anywhere near £20m I'd wrap him in cotton wool and deliver him myself.

This. And like other world class players they just change the way they play, look at the credit Schooles often receives and Pirlo is another example.

correct, but asking him to play in a 2-man midfield in a league built on counter attacks into his 30's does us no good.

I agree with this, and in the Champions League too.

Yaya isn't finished, it's just at the very highest level he needs to be in a midfield three and not a two, tactically we don't help him at times.

I don't know many midfielders in world football who can get you 15-20 goals a season, around 10 assists and control the play as good as some of the best around.

Yaya is still the most complete midfielder in world football in my opinion.

Stevan Jovetic in departure lounge after Wilfried Bony’s £25m arrival

Wilfried Bony was on the verge of joining Manchester City last night after they agreed an initial £25 million fee with Swansea City for the Ivory Coast striker.
City expect to confirm the signing of Bony in the next 48 hours and his impending arrival could pave the way for Stevan Jovetic’s departure at the Etihad Stadium.

EXCLUSIVE: Juventus will swoop for Stevan Jovetic after #MCFC complete Wilfried Bony deal <a class="postlink" href="http://sunpl.us/6010ah56" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://sunpl.us/6010ah56</a>

Said it earlier but this could be a masterstroke if it all goes to plan.

Bony in, Jov to Juve gaining us first refusal on Pogba in the summer - I assume Juve haven't got the dollar to pay us now so if it can be done for say £20mil cash going their way, Pogba to us then it would be fantastic and would have boxed off a signing that needs doing.

I like jovetic, but if we can swap him for pogba then I will pay for his flight. Pogba should be our number one target. Him and yaya in midfield makes me feel tingly.
