He's too hollywood in his play for me.

Alot of our play breaks down when the ball reaches him, there is no denying his ability but he doesnt fit in our system, he forces his play when he is on the pitch and for the most part it doesnt come off.

Throw in his injury record then i wouldnt mind seeing us get a decent fee for him in the summer.

I agree with this. His talent and technique is unquestionable, but I don't think he suits us at all. We've looked far better this season with one up top. That doesn't suit his game. If we play two up top against the lesser sides, Aguero has to start, so if Jovetic is playing, he drops in to the exact same positions as Silva, Nasri, Yaya, and Lampard, and all 4 of them are better than him.

I feel like he slows our play down too. He always comes short and wants the ball to feet, whereas with the creative players we have in midfield, we need forwards who make runs in behind teams. He constantly passes to the invisible man as well which is infuriating.

Great talent, but I just feel not quite right for our style of play.

Made a great run into the box for the second goal against Sunderland. Showed great desire to get into the danger area after the lay off to Clichy and the finish was class. He can do it, but agree its probably not his natural game.

As a player I find him infuriating, if he was playing in the 70s he would have been ideal as a Rodney Marsh type showboating player. The main problem for me is that his body is to open when he receives the ball making it easier for him to be dispossessed, this was demonstrated last Sunday when Sheff Wed scored. The ball played into him players moving forward as we do then he loses it, all out of position which started the counter attack.

Flick and tricks are fine when you are cruising but they are very difficult for your team mates to anticipate. The other thing is that he seems to be always jumping in anticipation of a tackle everytime he loses it, probably due to him being injured the majority of the time. I still think he is a good player and would have been idolized a few years back, but for me he is not top level which is where we are.

Certainly very talented and works hard but does remind me of Balotelli with a high amount of lost possession just outside the penalty area from the risky flicks and tricks you mentioned which then sets up counter attacks against us.

This is almost word-for-word as to what a mate of mine who coaches professionally at a youth level once said about Jovetic. And that's one of those things that once you hear you can't quite get out of your mind. And then you see it in his play constantly. (Look at how Yaya uses his body to shield possession for the opposite example.)

I like the runs Jovetic makes and his ability to drag defenders around. But just far, far, far too wasteful for me. Especially when the attack going forward is collectively accustomed to Yaya, Silva, and Nasri as far as keeping the ball.

If a good deal is there to be made for him now I'd be all for making it. I just think Jovetic will never be a better striker than the others we have and never will be a better AM than the lads we have in those slots. Plus the whole being hurt 50+% of the time lessens his value as cover in those areas.

If it's true that he is considerably worse than City's other attacking players when it comes to losing the ball, you would expect it to show up in the stats, but that doesn't seem to be the case by comparison.

Juventus make enquiry on Jovetic!!!?

Juventus make enquiry for Manchester City striker

<a class="postlink" href="http://forzaitalianfootball.com/2015/01/juventus-make-enquiry-for-manchester-city-striker/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://forzaitalianfootball.com/2015/01 ... y-striker/</a>

Juventus have made enquiries for Manchester City striker Stevan Jovetic, according to reports in the British press.

The Bianconeri tried to sign the 25-year-old before his move to England when he played for rivals Fiorentina, and now appear to be back in the market for his services.

The Daily Star claims that the Old Lady have asked City to take the Montenegro international on loan until the end of the season, with an option to secure a permanent deal for €25 million at the end of the loan.

Juve’s current Spanish strikers Fernando Llorente and Alvaro Morata have failed to impress so far this season, and so coach Massimiliano Allegri is said to be looking at potential recruits to help ease the pressure on Carlos Tevez up front.

Manchester City may be willing to consider letting Jovetic leave after having agreed a fee with Swansea City to sign striker Wilfried Bony.

Jovetic joined City from Fiorentina in July 2013 for €28 million, and has scored 7 goals in 17 games in all competitions so far this season.

Don't think he will go in this window. Pellegrini have always insisted to have 4 strikers in the squad.
