In a 433, both Hazard and Jovetic will play the same position- i.e. The wide forward in the front 3.

In a 4231, both will play as one of the 3 behind the main striker.

In a 442, Jovetic will either play as the left wide mid, or the 2nd striker, while hazzard wil play as the left wide mid.

SO outside of a 442, they practically will play in similar positions. So they are both similar and comparable.

Unlike your Kompany v. Ronaldo comparison. One plays predominantly as a CD, and sometimes as a DM, the other plays predominantly as a wingforward or a striker. They have nothing in common.

To say Hazard and Jovetic are not comparable is a laughable, as they both play very similar roles.

Hazard has been a stud. Jovetic can be too--- We Hope!

It seems you don't understand the difference between a second striker and an attacking midfielder.

This is not a function of what you'd do, or what is up to the manager. I am talking about what has already been done.

My post was not guess work or my opinion. It is where each player has played when played in such systems. And that is why they are comparable.

This is not a function of what you'd do, or what is up to the manager. I am talking about what has already been done.

My post was not guess work or my opinion. It is where each player has played when played in such systems. And that is why they are comparable.

But did they take up the same role ? Nope.

A player could position himself on the wing but could actually be a false winger. A player could position himself as a striker but could be a false striker.

Hazard = Attacking Midfielder

There's isn't a huge difference between the two, but there is a difference.

If you've watched Jovetic for Fio you'd see he plays in exactly the same zones as Hazard, with the exception of last season where he was mainly deployed as a striker.

They pretty much try to do the same things, not in terms of style, but they influence the game in a similar way.

Well...considering AM was Tevez's position all his life until moving to England and played as one for us with the arrival of Aguero, I'm gonna go with that.

It seems you don't understand the difference between a second striker and an attacking midfielder.

It seems you didn't see Hazard play for Lille as a secondary striker pretty much all year for Lille the season before he came to Chelsea. They often play in the same areas and have similar attributes, of course they can be easily compared.
