Jude Bellingham

Don't see it. Doesn't mean he doesn't have it, I just don't see it.
Bellingham is very over-hyped at the moment. Once the media have decided then it is like "The Emperor's Clothes" and everyone blindly follows the narrative. I thought he was terrible in the first half last night when Germany totally dominated the midfield. Gundogan and Kimmich ran rings round him and Rice. He was much better in the second half and his energy helped England get back in the match.
He reminds me a bit of Sancho who was also hugely over-hyped. Bellingham could become a great player (especially under Pep) but he could also go the other way. He is nowhere near displacing Rodri or Gundogan (and possibly Phillips if he ever plays) yet. Let's wait and see.

Could you not say the same of Foden judging off these recent international games? Yet, we all know how good he can be in a proper team.

Seems harsh to say ‘possibly even Phillips’ while Bellingham is busy putting in very good performances in the Champions League.

Personally I think Foden is a much higher level than Bellingham, certainly in attacking positions. I also think he was England's best player (not saying much) in the Italy match. The media seem to be targeting Foden these days which is not a surprise given he plays for City. Sadly some of our fans (not saying you) are influenced by the press. I attend most matches and base my views on what I see. Foden is fantastic for City and without him we are a much slower and a weaker team.
A football career is a marathon not a sprint and Bellingham could become an excellent player. But the hype around him is ridiculous at the moment. Meanwhile I am a fan of Phillips and believe he will be a vital player for City if he stays injury free. I think Bellingham is clearly a good player but still has some way to go. Look at the way Sancho, Rashford, Martial, Elanga, Greenwood were built up by the press and the social media fanboys. But even matchgoing United fans realised the limitations of these players..well before the media did.

You mean the Phillips who hasn't managed to start a game for us yet? Whilst Bellingham is putting in MOTM performances for England and scoring for Dortmund in the CL against us.

I think Bellingham is a fantastic player and impressed me alot last night. If as reported, he is available next summer for 80M and Bernardo still wants out, I think it would be a brilliant move for both parties for him to make the move.

100% this. Anyone who watched last nights game and doesn't think Bellingham was the only real shining light for England is just blind to the obvious talent he clearly has.

Oh the Bellingham Isn’t all that incoming posts it’s either a whined up or they don’t watch and see what top managers see..

This is the part I find odd, to be honest. I said a week or so ago that I don't understand how some people can't see it. Just a really, really well rounded player with a great attitude and maturity.

I think he's got the talent to be whatever kind of midfielder he wants and, more importantly, the drive to do it. Who better than Pep to polish a diamond in midfield? Once that happens then I think he will be incredible.

But we'll see what happens. He'd be my number one target for next summer and I accept that others might not feel that same way but, for me, the alternatives aren't anywhere near as exciting.

I disagree, I watched him closely over both England games and played better than any midfielder around him, the only other one near to him was Rice. Last night he was up against two vastly experienced midfielders and on the whole, more than matched them. Whoever can sign him and I hope it’s us but not for ridiculous money, will get a top class player.

He has had some brilliant games for Dortmund and was very good against City in all three games he's played against us now - particularly considering his age. However, you're quite right. He did nothing against Italy other than miss a late chance and as you say him and Rice were chasing the game and Gundogan was picking it up all over the park and just slicing through the middle. He's got loads of ability, technique and physicality but he isn't doing anything special at the moment. England are a much better side with Phillips and Rice. Because they're both good at defending and carrying it forwards.

Bellingham is the new hero. Just like Sancho, Foden, Rashford etc have been labelled over the years. Then they get slowly ground down by the inevitable doom and the media switches and destroys them further. Foden needs to be central. Playing in combination with Bellingham I think we'll get the best out of both of them. The first half Bellingham did very little last night and then missed a couple of easy chances to at least hit the target and blazed it over. He can do no wrong at the moment. I look forward to him being the villain in 6-12 months time.
