Losing out on Bellingham is the reality we have to face up to when trying to sign elite players whilst having the huge cloud of Premier League charges hanging over us.

If you are an elite player with multiple options you simply ain’t gonna choose the club which last month had wall to wall media coverage that we are about to get relegated out of the entire football league.

It won’t affect every transfer but will for any elite players we are in for that can pick their club like Bellingham can.

I’m sure LFC not looking like they were gonna qualify for Champs League last month maybe kept us in the race, but as soon as LFC get top 4 sewn up Bellingham is done for them ( in my opinion ).

Just hope we move quickly on alternatives.

Far more complicated than simply having a relegation clause in the contract.

You wouldnt turn down the other suitors only to go back with a begging bowl to them a year or two later IF City were relegated.

And that’s without thinking and the media shitstorm he would face if he chose City over LFC this Summer.
