we await more news about the greedy overated arrogant lad from Birmingham I'm sure we'll hear all about his bad attitude and how he's a problem in the dressing room over the next few weeks

Think this would be a good signing. Clearly it’s a huge fee but I think having the face of English football will make him and us highly marketable plus English players carry a premium which means they hold value plus he could play for us for a decade. Or he smashes it and goes to RM in 3 years for 250m win win. Equally If it doesn’t happen I wouldn’t be too disappointed as Caicedo, Rice, Bruno G would be a lot cheaper and still add value to our side in my view. Rice especially has real leadership attributes as well as being a top player.

I personally can’t say I am excited that we are one of the only 2 clubs that can get him because I never rated him that highly and the prices quoted for him are absurd. I guess I just have to trust that Pep and the board know what is best for us.

Transfers that cost this much don't really excite me because it feels like the fee removes any headroom for the player to exceed expectations.

Bellingham will arrive for £130-150m and if he's not a 10/10 every single game, people will complain. And if he's the best midfielder of all time people will say "he better be, he cost more than most football clubs". etc.

I've always liked the signings in that £40-60m range where we get the player on the way up, then enjoy the journey as they develop and grow under Pep to become one of the very best in the world in their positions.
