Not obvious mate.

Had agreed personal terms with four clubs.

It's about the fee. If it was about being respectful to Dortmund, you would think Madrid would be telling their media mouthpieces to shut up.

They’ve had their arses handed to them by City 5-1 over two legs and their biggest rivals in La Liga have walked away with the title at ease. They need some good news to brighten up all the doom and gloom.

Exactly. It's a booster for the fanbase.

Whether it is grounded in hope or reality, it doesn't pass the smell test when it contradicts itself.

Can't state a specific fee, when it also then says the two clubs haven't brokered a fee.

Can't say not discussed, out of respect for Dortmund, when their media mouthpieces are doing their bidding.

We had six months of him having an agreement in place with Liverpool.

I don't understand why City didn't rule us out of the race weeks ago when his destination became obvious?

Anyways, certainly interesting to see who our alternative targets are. Usually by now we know some of our summer targets, this year nothing....
Did we ever rule us in the race? If we didn’t why would we then rule us out of it?

If that's true, then based on everything we are supposed to know about our club, he isn't coming here.

I'm not too arsed about this but this 'saga' is just weird. Romano has made out that negotiations haven't taken place due to Dortmund's title race...but also that a fee is essentially agreed. And a fee far lower than initially mooted. Didn't the Dortmund sporting director say they have had 0 bids for Bellingham?

Very strange. Regardless, I hope City aren't waiting for Gundo/Bernardo situations as we need at leasf 1 new midfielder anyway.

or the narrative of state owned clubs again if/when they wont do the fee and we do?

That's where my head's been at for the last few weeks.

Maybe, maybe, if we hadn't been celebrating the first trophy win of a potential treble or if we had failed to qualify for the Champions League then I'd be arsed.

As it stands, he's a top quality player. We have many of those. If he goes to Real Madrid then fair play to both of them.

Fair & Real Madrid shouldn't come together at the same sentence.
