"Liverpool cannot spend like Manchester City"

Liverpool net transfer spend 18/19 to 22/23: £254m

Manchester City net transfer spend 18/19 to 22/23: £225m

Looks like spitty is telling porkies again!

Yeah but they need more players quality than us.
On current form we could get by just adding Jude for Gundo.
Although wouldn't mind a few bargains too.

Hello how is it possible for people to be extremely biased. How is bellingham twice the player of coutinho ? If bellingham had coutinhos talent or could create magic like him, no one would have a problem with paying 150m for him. Coutinho ended up being a flop but bellingham doesn’t have even half the talent Coutinho showed.

It’s not really a fair comparison at all, as they're very different players. Coutinho in his prime, was an advanced number 8, number 10 or false winger. He played the left side of a front 3 under Klopp, drifting centrally and at Barca he played in the same position, or on the right in a 4-4-2. In fact he wasn’t and still isn’t, suited to being a typical central midfielder. You could compare him to Ozil, Hazard, Alexis Sanchez or possibly even Foden or Mahrez. But you wouldn’t compare Coutinho to midfielders like say, Fernandinho, Yaya Toure or Gundogan, which is more where Bellingham fits. Could Fernandinho create magic like Coutinho, no. Was he any less impactful to his teams success? I’d argue from an impact point of view, Fernandinho possibly won more points for City, than Coutinho ever won for Liverpool. Bellingham is being looked at to replace Gundogan, not to replace Mahrez. In my opinion, he is twice as good as Coutinho has ever been, at playing a role like Gundo does for City. But like I say, it’s not a fair comparison between these two players.

The last statement is also slightly incorrect. Bellingham at 19 has played about 80 more pro games, than Coutinho had played when he joined Liverpool, aged 21. Coutinho wouldn’t hit the number of games Bellingham is currently on, until his third season with Liverpool aged 24.
Bellingham has also scored 15 more career goals than Coutinho had at 21. Again, Coutinho would take another 3 years at Liverpool, to surpass Jude’s current goal tally, aged 24.
Even more so, Jude has scored one less goal in Europe, than Coutinho managed, right up until the point he left Liverpool aged 26. He had scored 9 European goals at that point, and Jude already has 8. Bellingham has already been capped 25 times by England too. Coutinho would reach that many caps for Brazil until he played at Barca.

The thing I love most about that silly "passion, honour and reputation" quote from this week is the amount of football fans that seem to think that describes their club exactly. There's fucking Arsenal fans on Reddit who think it was talking about them. Hilarious.

Klopp is moaning so must be some news …Merseyside is not looking like Jude’s next destination.
