judy garland's ding dong the witch is dead, no 2 in charts

a minutes silence, at a football ground. For the most reviled politician in modern times, madness
Rugby union grounds are a much safer bet they are basically thatcherite strongholds anyway
If it gets the go-ahead (the silence) the ding-dong song will be belted out, if the stewards try and stop it there will be riots for sure
It seems her supporters have seriously under-estimated the extent of the hatred she engendered.
Playing the respect card will not work, she had no respect what-so-ever for the working class, barely concealing her glee as factory after factory closed, as the power and rail and water industries passed into private ownership.
She did not "save the country", she split it asunder

Well I heard something relating to this whole debate that really disgusted me today. It seems that Thatcher's son Mark, you remember him, the clown who got lost in a desert or something and had to be rescued by the army. Not to worry about the cost, us tax payers sorted the bill.

Anyway, Mark is now a 'Sir' FFS! What in God's name did he get that for, as it we dont know?

Joke.

Treated you badly did she? Lose your job in the 80's? Sign on with millions of others? It happened to me. And a load of my mates.

And yet I can't bring myself to join in the hate. Probably because I find it all a bit distasteful.

Let me know when a member of your family dies next and I'll sing some offensive songs whilst having a celebratory drink shall I?

what a sick thing to say. was Thatcher a member of your family was she you idiot. bit over the mark saying shit about someones family who has done no wrong to you or millions of other people! prick
I would hope that his point is that there are people out there who mourn her loss, and much more importantly her family. They are having to go through her death, and mourn her, while there are people dancing in the streets, and saying stuff like 'dancing on Thatcher's corpse' - off course they can hate her, but to say stuff as sick as some of the comments have been just show an absolute disregard for anyone else except yourself. Anyway, that's how I read his post.

Thanks mate. That's what I meant but clumsily put.

The irony of people who claim to be left wing coming out with completely inhumane comments. Im not defending thatcher because im certainly no fucking tory and consider myself to swing towards the left.

but "dancing on her corpse"? If you oppose everything she and her party stood for you wouldnt actually think this.

I hope the innocent members of her family can have a peaceful day, its not their fucking fault.

So whats your stance when Mandela (proven terrorist) dies...... bet that'll blow your mind!

Not sure what Mandela has to do with anything?

Mandela being a 'proven terrorist' doesn't undo anything Thatcher did nor is it relevant to anything I've said.

I think you're a 'controversial' right winger, you know little yet you grasp at the straws you can see in the vain hope someone confuses your small minded bigotry with being interesting.

Wow- nice to meet you too! I think it's relevant as I believe there will be tons of praise heaped on him as a 'great man' in the media and we'll all be expected to grieve and respect his death and if I dared aired my views on the man in way way many people have on bluemoon/social networks about Margaret Thatcher I would get lots of abuse. Yet in my eyes I think the man has a lot of innocent blood on his hands regardless of what he was fighting against.

That said I would not show the same levels of the smug/disgusting comments I've been sickened to read over the past two days about Thatcher- mainly form people who see themselves as liberals/peace loving types, very strange!
