It wouldn't be beyond the realms of possibility that Herr Klippity remains in Germany, for now; at Hamburg, for example.
I do think the guy will one day try his hand in England or Spain but he's clearly no fool and he's had things pretty much his own way at Mainz and Dortmund. He's got to be aware that wouldn't be the case at Madrid or City. So, maybe, if Hamburg (who are struggling to secure a manager for next season, right now) batted their eyelashes, he'd be tempted.
Just a thought...
They appointed Bruno Labbadia as coach the same day as Klopp resigned.

Managers of this calibre don't become available every day, which leaves me wondering why we havnt`t gone for him, must be someone lined up. Carlo Ancelotti is done I`ve heard....

I hope not.

He isn't a manager for an overhaul and rebuild, like Mourinho he thrives with a ready to go established team.

I don't think this team needs another yes man that trusts his players too much, it needs a manager thats brings energy and vibrance because we are ridiculously flat at the moment.

Carlo is a great cup manager, not a league title manager.

I get feeling reading the papers that it's Mansour who wants Carlo, not Txiki and co.
The team doesn't need rebuilding , few out ,2or 3 top notch players in , change of manager & away we go. I think you`re` not very well informed about Ancelotti, quality manager, far better than Pellegrini, as for him being a yes man, that's just utter bollock....no offence.

Of course it needs a rebuild, it's clear a lot of our players are not only getting towards the wrong side of 30, but they are clearly not good enough to take us further in the Champions League.

It wouldn't surprise me to see 8 in and 8 out this summer, if not more.

I am not knocking Ancelotti, he is a fantastic manager and already one of the greats, but I just think he isn't the man to come in, overhaul and rebuild the squad, he specialises in getting teams who have more or less a complete squad ready to challenge for trophies and he gets them over the line, he probably would have been perfect a few years ago when our current team was in it's prime but not now.

From a person point of view I would prefer a Klopp or a Pep because of their styles of football and personalities, as a fan they would entertain me more.

Like I said, I think Mansour wants Carlo but Txiki and co don't, they want someone with a different brand of football that reflects their vision and also someone who will work with the academy and bring players through.

I like the 3 of Carlo, Pep and Klopp

But their is only Klopp who excites me as an appointment.

He would bring something I believe we have been missing Passion

I agree.

From a fan point of view and wanting to be entertained Klopp tops it for me, then Pep.

If we got Pep we would be great a manager who looks the biz but would be a Barca man

If we get Klopp we would get someone who IMO we will make our own, he will integrate fully with City as a club and Manchester as a City.

He would be similar to Mourinho at Chelsea and boy would it be interesting

Of course this squad needs rebuilding, even at its peak it was a disgrace in Europe when compared to the likes of Bayern and Barca.

Players of the calibre of Yaya, Nasri, Dzeko, Kolarov and Jovetic all have to leave. This means we have to replace 3 of our first team regulars. That is without mentioning the likes of Fernando, Sagna and Navas who are not good enough to be first team regulars for us.

These players combined with some of our on loan players i.e Nastasic, Negrado and Sinclair, could mean that over 10 players will be sold in the summer. For me that is a huge rebuilding job.
I thought these on loan players were already sold ? if not , we should bring Nastasic back.

I'm with you on this, just got a feeling that klopp is the missing piece in the jigsaw puzzle.

I like. Looks like a Klopp team... Let's go for it
Looks good, but what the hell is Dani Alves doing there?

Need a new LB too.

He's available for free this summer isn't he? I think he'd be an awesome addition tbh. Move Sagna on... And Clichy has had a fair season... I don't see any obvious upgrades there that are available. We can invest an up-and-comer but out of all the names being thrown around I still think Clichy would prove tough competition. He's my first choice going into next season

Looks like lacazette may stay at Lyon.

Alexandre Lacazette has confirmed that he intends to remain with Lyon this summer.
The Frenchman has been linked with a move to Liverpool following a barnstorming season in Ligue 1.
However, Lacazette insists he will remain put, saying: "I am good at Lyon, and if I feel that the project will continue, I can see myself staying."

For me we should pick a team / formation to get the most of the players we have:

Hart

Sagna Kompany Mangala

Milner Fernando Fenandinho Angelino

Silva

Aguero Bony

Hahahaha we wouldn't make top 6 with that.

hahaha really? we might not anyway.

Most teams park the bus against us, so no point at all playing 4 defenders every week. Sagna and Mangala can both play full back or centre back so they can cover across if Milner / Angelino can't get back and Nando can slot in to the gap left if need be. That is far better protection that what we have now.

Dinho goes box, to box, Silva plays where he is best, and we have two strikers and width.

It's probably just too brilliant an idea for you, and would cost us nothing :)

Definitely needs his own thread. I've heard from several people now that Pele isn't the only candidate for the job and City are more than happy for the media to continue linking him with the job for the moment.

Are we talking to Klopp's people? Again, sticking my neck out, I believe we are. I tend to believe the people who told me because they've no reason to lie to me (they're not Blues, they aren't based in England, and they work in football).

Personally I think this guy is the absolute perfect fit for out club on every single level. He ticks every box from European experience/success, to youth development, an eye for a good player, attacking football, and the charisma and intelligence to be the public face of the club and work with the people around him rather than against them.

I also think it's interesting that we were supposedly prepared to trigger Gotze's release clause, and are now reportedly prepared to trigger Isco's. Both players at clubs who's managers we could want.

Now that we're without manager we can talk directly to him. An almost absolute certainty is that City reps will be at the CL final.

C'mon Txiki, Khaldoun, Ferran, and Sheikh Mansour. This is the man. Move heaven and earth and get the deal done!

Haha. Just seen this thread. Ahh the memories. Maybe some two years later I might just get my wish !

To Brilliant of an idea? Haha it's a completely @@@@@@ up idea and you'll never see it happen for that reason.
