Some of this thread is a bit embarrassing. Giddy people posting vines of Klopp jumping up and down in a tracksuit like that will fix things or that it somehow makes him better than Pellegrini. It's like teenage girls getting excited by a new boyband. Cringeworthy.
What's wrong with people wanting an enthustiastic manager who gives a fuck? Totally understandable, if you ask me, after having to watch Pelle totally clueless and half asleep on the bench, every week for two seasons.

Yeah your right, let's ring keagan, loads of passion and enthusiasm. That's what we want.

You joke about passion and enthusiasm but lack of passion and enthusiasm is why everyone is crying to sell yaya for basically nothing... but hey not everyone has learned by actually playing sports.

No, lack of effort is a different thing than passion. You're labeling a man and insulting him without knowing him.
It's the new era of city fans, we won the lottery but there is still those amongst us winging about how our Lamborghini just isn't all I hoped for... Fucking chill out and enjoy the ride.

Klopp is a no brainer .... I predict if we get him in the summer City will win the PL and go very close in the CL ....

  • Proven top manager
Would raise the profile of the club
    Proven in CL
Could open the door to us signing the likes of Reus, Hummels, Gundogen

As nice a man as he is I don't see us making any progress under Pellegrini, some of his decisions are very strange indeed...

Klopp, along with the reported huge transfer budget, young hungry enthusiastic quality players... what a sight that would be!
Yes yes yes please.

Pep's not coming ... I do hope we're in for this guy .... Great manager, amazing job done at Dortmund, knows how to get to the CL final ... As a character the bloke is brilliant, would really be a shining light and raise the profile of the club immensely

Sorry meant no offense, I meant more along the lines that some people haven't witnessed having super enthusiastic coaches. I personally believe that motivating players is almost as important as coaching strategy, and being as crazy as klopp gets is one of the best ways to motivate players imo.

I can't remember anyone blaming Pellegrini for not showing passion last year, yet he was behaving no different than he is now.
I want to believe Txiki will NOT judge a manager for waring a tracksuit and a cap, for jumping around when we score, for wearing a beard, or for waving his arms and legs when to give directions to players. He will judge Klopp (and others) for totally different and actually footballing reasons. So all this crap about being passionate is plain stupid because as far as we know Pellegrini might be much more passionate than Klopp for that matter. It's not just what's been shown from the outside of the man during the 90 minutes.
If Klopp is the right man for us he will hopefully prove so when we do appoint him. And when it comes to entertainment and results I couldn't care less the way he is dressed or behaves. I do prefer the suit though ...

One year on and we're clearly going backwards - we won the league by the skin of our teeth pretty much with Mancini's players which was by far the best squad in the PL and we should have won the league easily not by a Gerrard slip ..... One year on, the defense is going backwards, we're all over the place defending set pieces and there is something clearly lacking, a spark if you like.... Plus an absolute bell-end Toure has been allowed to lead the team out in Kompany's absence, which given his behaviour is a managerial decision that is as bewildering as it is infuriating. Must be great for team spirit when a player that acts like a tw*t gets the captains armband!!.... I could go on about line-ups, leaving Fernandinho on the bench when the team is crying out for his tenacity and energy, all in all Pellegrini has fallen well below the standard and strength of management we need... Enthusiasm the likes of Klopp show is infectious and motivates players, I found myself falling asleep at Pellegrini's press conferences, not inspired at all, equally the players this season do not seem inspired at all!!

HONESTLY YOU ARE THE PERSONIFICATION OF THE MAN CITY FAN WHO BANGS ON ABOUT WHAT WE DID LAST SEASON, THE SEASON BEFORE ETC ..... HOW WILL IT HELP US NEXT SEASON? - STICKING WITH THIS MANAGEMENT AND GLOATING ABOUT WINNING THE DOUBLE IN 13/14? WE HAVE FALLEN WELL SHORT THIS SEASON & PELLEGRINI HAS BEEN FOUND WANTING & NOT UP TO THE TASK IN BIG GAMES IN PARTICULAR .... WE HAVE TO KEEP MOVING FORWARD NOT BANGING ON ABOUT THE PAST, OTHERWISE WE'LL START TO SOUND LIKE MAN UNITED!!!

sarcasm very good!!.... I don't think you could compare him to Klopp who looks to have the all round package, infectious enthusiasm, tactically very good which he's proved in top CL games and looks like he develops a real bond with his players ..... He is a person who would really raise the profile of the club IMO

nonono TrueBlue1705 if someone shows an example of a bad manager with enthusiasm then all managers who have enthusiasm must be bad... Pep was very enthusiastic today, hope we don't get him in light of this revolutionary discovery

I guess the guys at City have their hearts set on a Pep reunion... personally if I were given a choice of the two I'd like Klopp .... I think he would work wonders with our squad and transfer budget .... One thing though about Pep that had me puzzled .... how would anyone think it might be a good idea to go 3v3 against Neymar, Suarez and Messi? Especially with the defenders Pep had at his disposal, not his greatest moment.....

It would be absurd to wait a year for Pep when Klopp is available now. I actually think Klopp is the better manager and his style is far more suited to the premier league and for success in Europe. As I see it, he's one of the few who is capable of competing with Mourinho.

Agree with both you and TrueBlue1705. Im not a big fan of Guardiolas style of play, I'm more of a direct football fan rather than possession. I dont really think peps style suits the prem anyway. I've always wanted klopp and if we miss out on him we'll regret it. But hey ho, pep made a pinky promise with Txiki therefore he's coming to us.

For me Pellegrini is a good manager, maybe not the best in the world but he has the backing of the players and has done a solid job, had we missed out on the champions league then he was gone, but we didn't we got second, I don't wanna swop management every year we come second!
When we face Barca, Real, Bayern it is not the magagement which is our issue but the players at our disposal, don't get me wrong I'm still grinning with glee at the lambo in the driveway, but equally that doesn't stop you looking at the Bugatti in the neighbours driveway.
So very happy if Pellegrini stays however it's obvious he is simply a caretaker manager for a season which isn't great, if results go against us he could easily lose the dressing room and there will be constant speculation on his position which will be destabilising for the club.
So if the question has to be asked given Klopp is available should we appoint him today? For me Pep is the best manager in the world and we would be incredibly lucky to have him in charge however I am not sure he would be as good a fit for our club as Klopp for a couple of reasons,
1) Pep has been fortunate to have teams full of world class players, possibly the best on the planet, he has moulded them into something awe inspiring but Klopp has a history of making good players great and importantly making the most of the resources he has at his disposal. for me Klopp is the right guy for where we currently are as a club and the project under way.
2) Players, I think the players will love Klopp but then equally they would be in awe of Pep and respect his authority. Pep however from everything I've read is very focussed on what he needs from his players and those which do not buy into his vision will be gone. Pep is truly ruthless and single minded, he may not fit into the ethos of our club as well as Klopp, and if results don't go his way I think he could lose the players and club, this season the fractures in Bayern have been clear for all to see!
3) Cost, well Pep would cost us a ton more money on wages however the strength having him as our manager would give us in the players market would probably offset this, Pep is the one manager every player wants to play for, he has almost a cult status among players. That's not to say Klopp would be a issue he's just not Pep, but equally for me players play for cash not the badge the history, pride of playing for a club. If this meant everything to players then real, Barca, Bayern, United would have the smallest wage bills but they don't.
4) Hunger, for me this is the reason why Klopp should clearly be our next manager, city is a step up for him providing him resources and funds that have never previously been at his disposal. He would never see himself as bigger than the club and for him and us winning the champions league would drive him on. Is city the dream for Pep would he ever buy into our club the way Klopp would? Klopp would love us and we would love him.

To Sum it up, happy to stay with Pellegrini but if he is just a caretaker manager (which I suspect is the case) for Pep then I'd personally rather Klopp. You also have to factor into the equation that Klopp is available today whereas Pep maybe fluttering his eyes in our direction but he is not available and he has previously choose not to join us and join Bayern so there is no guarantee that in 12 months we will not be looking for another manager with Pep and Klopp ruled out.......then who do we look at?
