I would love my manager to be like this.

Klopp would get the Etihad rocking.

Without going into why I think Pellegrini should be relieved of his position... I'm just deadly bored of how things have panned out this season. I'm sick of the talk on the OS pre and post match. "We can still win the title", "we will not give up" etc. It would be nice, considering how much has been spent and how good the spine of the team remains, to just for once set a benchmark. Lead from the front. Set the gauntlet to others. Take our opportunities rather than have to claw back points. Mancini improved our mentality. Pellegrini improved the morale of the squad post Mancini and got us playing great football last season. The fact is we've been poor. Blame players, blame injuries, blame fatigue... blame the manager. Whatever you want to call it, this season has been poor and Klopp is someone who not only motivates players, retains harmony, gives youth a chance and also tactically organises well and takes no crap... he's also a lot of fun and there's something in me that wants to see that from a manager. I liked the passion Keegan had. I liked how much Pearce put into it despite the dross we had on show. I love Mancini embracing the scarf and becoming one of us. I want City to win first and foremost but it would be one hell of a ride with Klopp and let's all be honest... there's still a big part of being a City fan that likes a few twists and turns on the way (as much as that goes against what I initially wrote!).

Yep those being the metaphorical knife into the rags, gooners and dippers, again and again and again again and again and again again and again and again again and again and again again and again and again again and again and again again and again and again again and again and again again and again and again again and again and again again and again and again again and again and again again and again and again again and again and again again and again and again again and again and again again and again and again again and again and again again and again and again again and again and again again and again and again again and again and again again and again and again again and again and again again and again and again again and again and again again and again and again again and again and again again and again and again again and again and again again and again and again again and again and again.

Some of this thread is a bit embarrassing. Giddy people posting vines of Klopp jumping up and down in a tracksuit like that will fix things or that it somehow makes him better than Pellegrini. It's like teenage girls getting excited by a new boyband. Cringeworthy.

Pellegrini seems to have been caricaturized as some dour, uninspired chequebook manager by some on here. He clearly isn't arsed about the media side of his job and his English is limited in press conferences. This strongly affects the way fans perceive him but neither of these things are of any consequence with the players/ his ability to do the job. After two years in England, Mourinho and Pelle will have a league and league cup to their name each - but one is now being labelled a managerial genius by the press whilst Pelle's initial achievements were met with apathy.

If Pellegrini was such a wet towel, then his achievements at Villareal and Malaga (particuarly when the financial ship was sinking and he firefighting on all fronts whilst taking them on an amazing Champions league run) wouldn't have been possible. And the points total he achieved at Madrid alone deserves respect. This season is probably one of his worst in recent memory and we could still finish second. This is a manager who has consistently got the best out of his players over the last decade and before he came here was widely recognised as one of the best man managers in the world. This hasn't changed overnight.

Personally, I think Klopp/Guardiola/Pellegrini are all top classes manages with little between them (media perceptions/press conference entertainment aside. The players are the main problem - many lacking either technically or mentally.

If your opinion is that Pellegrini should go, fine. But calling him a joker etc does a great disservice to his managerial record and shows your own naiviety. With Klopp or Pellegrini or any other top-class manager we'll be fine providing we get the considerable amount of deadwood out and the directors actually sign some world-class talent for once.

One thing I think Klopp might find difficult in the PL is the sheer amount of games we play. The Budesliga only has 18 teams in their top flight not to mention we have the league cup and FA cup where they only have the DFB Polka. Also the fixtures around Xmas is exhausting on the players. He has his philosophy of Gengenpressing and the players might get burnt out toward the end of the season. Just a thought.

Well said Sir, Pellegrini does not turn into a crap manager over night or one season come to that, i am happy to see him here next year, lets see in 12 months who is right and who is wrong.

What's wrong with people wanting an enthustiastic manager who gives a fuck? Totally understandable, if you ask me, after having to watch Pelle totally clueless and half asleep on the bench, every week for two seasons.

Where would he go in theory if Real bench wont be empty, and also no English CL club makes an offer to him?

I cant see him in Italy (Milan, Napoli, Roma as possible teams with new manager). Or at a club like Valencia/Sevilla (in case they change manager, probably not).

Its gonna be Newcastle isnt it? 8 year contract.

PSG also shoud be mentioned maybe. I wonder that they keep Blanc or not.

Funny. Seriously though, let's not get ahead of ourselves here. We all know that Klopp is a top manager.

My point was just that I could understand people getting giddy over a top manager, who is also charismatic and enthustiastic. I haven't posted GIFs etc. of Klopp on here, but if people do, so what? I'm not blaming them for wanting him.

Well if we are really letting MP go and are thinking about Klopp - better get a move on as I head the scousers are defo trying to make a move on him.
Bloody hope he doesn't go anywhere in the Prem bar us.

I'd prefer to select managers based on their tactics and management rather than being charismatic and enthusiastic. Not saying Klopp isn't, but saying Klopp is preferred because he is a enthusiastic is well not right.

Surely you should know by now that giddy managers aren't always good? Pearce was crap, Sven was half decent, Pelle pretty good, yet all three are different in their demeanour.

I guess I'll have to explain my point a little further.

Of course, being enthustiastic and charismatic is not enough to be a good manager, and we obviously shouldn't appoint a manager based solely on that.

With that said, most people will agree that Klopp is a very good manager, and that's why he's being linked to several big clubs. In a league where Bayern has every advantage there is, he managed winning the league two years in a row and even made the CL final. Dortmund has sold their star players to Bayern, and now Dortmund obviously aren't as strong as they were, but you can't really blame Klopp for that.

Him being such a charismatic and enthustiastic figure is just a "bonus", as I believe a lot of City fans would like a manager like him on the sidelines, as opposed to Pellegrini, who basically doesn't do anything. That's my entire point, and that's why I said that I could understand people getting giddy and posting a couple of GIFs.

I completely agree with you, being charismatic and enthusiastic is not enough to be a great manager, but it's a great attribute to have, I guess that's one of the reasons we aren't performing at the moment - Pellegrini simply doesn't seem to me a great motivator.

This puts a massive kross in the Klopp kolumn, tbh:

As good as JK is, Rafael Benitez would do a gr8 job at the Etihad.

As I pen this it's the 55 th minute of Empoli vs Napoli. Empoli are leading 3-0 and Rafa is not happy. N chairman Di Laurentiis said at the beginning of the season that that CL qualification was a non-negotiable objective. If they lose tonight I fear he may be dogmeat later this week.

I think Rafa will want to move on and he would be a rather excellent guy to lead us to renewed glory next season.
