United played 6 more league games after the FA Cup final so it wouldn't have been that.

the agument is he retired after the wembley game so when did he serve his ban

just found this

Scholes was dismissed for a studs-up challenge on Pablo Zabaleta during the second half of the derby with Manchester City at Wembley as his side lost 1-0.

If violent conduct is confirmed as the reason for his sending-off when the referee Mike Dean's report is received by the Football Association on Monday, it will condemn Scholes to a three-match suspension.

That would rule the 36-year-old out of Tuesday's trip to Newcastle United, the Easter Saturday encounter with Everton at Old Trafford and that key trip to the Emirates to face their closest title challengers.

Think he meant the Wembley game as in the CL final.

He played in their last league game and the champs league final didn't he?

We we're beaten and we must accept it.
Clutching at straws is not what we are about. If the rules were broken leave it up to the FA to sort out and abide by their decision.
Ranting on here just smacks of sour grapes.
The very fact that they had to use Scholes shows what a desperate state they are in.
Accept defeat and enjoy the feeling of revenge in April when we take the title by beating them :-)

let's put this nonsense to bed

He informed Ferguson two weeks ago that he wanted to return and United quietly registered Scholes with the Football Association on
Friday morning, ensuring he would be eligible to face City in the third round.

I am sure I read at the start of the season that they kept him registered as a player for this year, he was coaching some of the kids I believe and he was registered as player coach. The article jokingly said that he could technically play for the first team. We saw the joke on Sunday. Will have a search for the article.

ssn said he was registerd yesterday but not seen anything about fielding ineligible player
If that´s true (which it prolly isn´t - SNN?!) then they would be royally fooked and there would be an FA inquiry as to who allowed it on the day of the game. Had to be registered by 5pm Fri surely?

Straying away from the matter though, would people really want to be put back into the cup through this way? its a little bit shit
