There have been umpteen threads about blues backing the rags to win in the past,in fact there was one yesterday where folk were saying they were going to cover their bets...whats wrong with that?

Ive got quiet a few bob on us winning the league & have had cover bets on them fuckers months ago..

OP, I know exactly where you are coming from.

I have regularly tried to jinx bet results I don't want to happen. My greatest success was when I put my entire Betfair balance at the time (£100) on Utd to beat Everton. I didn't think it was a good bet, it was a deliberate attempt to stop them winning. In my own mind I contributed greatly to Everton getting a point that day and it was a ton well spent.

I think it's just the very poor timing of the thread on such a day. Everybody has some nerves even if they try to convince themselves they haven't. People will be snapping at each other over little things today so hopefully people try to keep calm and the mods realise it is an unusual circumstance we find ourselves and show understanding.

Although i primarily back on the sport i know about (Rugby League) i have never bet against my own team. I rarely bet on soccer but did win a decent pay out for the recent Manchester derby.
