Just interviewed Dennis Tueart

Hate to think what would happen now if a player nutted another player like Dennis nutted that Hartlepool player (Potter was it ?)Probably a jail sentence. Still, different times.
That was a beaut, weren't they ex-schoolmates or something, maybe DT was getting some revenge!

Without doubt one of the all-time greats and a superb footballer in every respect.Well remember his first game on returning from America and the atmosphere in the ground was phenomenal.Needs to be remembered as well that after the overhead at Wembley he did exactly the same in the next home game, think it was v Sheff. U.

What a coinkydink, spotted one D Tueart in Costco last night. He must've thought I was some fucking weirdo when I grinned at him and said hello, until I turned around and said "Last Sunday, did you enjoy that?" "Still grinning", he replied, grinning broadly

D.T was a class act from the moment we signed him, I even forgave him ripping us a new arsehole when Sunderland knocked us out of the FA cup on the run into the final with leeds ;0),

Always a pleasure to watch when he was playing, skill, speed, and 100% effort........and as mentioned that headbutt was a belter, layed the guy out cold.

the problems start when he thinks everyone present in asda are interested in his ditty about george best curtseying by the corner flag.

Ha ha ha, is it ............."Oh is name is georgie best, an he is a big discrace, With his bright red handbag and his shirt is trimmed with lace. as he runs down the wing, he gives a little twirl, an curtseys at the corner post just like a little girl...........la la la lah.

We played them at the swamp and beat them 1-3 ( the first of many good stuffings they got off us after we came up under M&A ) and that was the song belted out by the blues in the ground as we celabrated, always brings back happy memories hearing that one sung..........

Some people have all the best Jobs !!

For those of us on Cup Final Day who couldn't get a Ticket, the consolation was seeing "The King of all Geordies" and The Goat together at the same time on ITV.

The only two players I have seen from start to finish ( bell,Lee, Young already in the team when I was seven) score over a 100 Goals for City.

My favourite player as I grew up.

Got the book in WH Smith's in Sale this week when he was doing a personal signing gig. Quality player and bloke.

That hunched run as he'd probe and prod the ball invitingly at the full back, white sock tie ups identifying the one and only Dennis, off he'd go in front of the packed Kippax homing in on the North Stand goal. Does anyone recall the run from inside his own half against Derby in '76 when he rounded the keeper and slid the ball in from the tightest of angles? I can still see the ball bobbling across the line- it seemed to take for ever before the place errupted.

I caught a bit of the serialisation of his book in one of the papers, can't remember who the three were but he did name the three potential replacements for Pearce when he was caretaker. Souness was one, I think Jewell might have been another and a rag twat was the third. Maybe Keane?
