Great result for City at the Emirates.

Means win or bust for Newcastle and the pressure is on them too. No packed defence to break down. They are going to have to go for it
But why do people think a must win game results in a team playing with a wide-open defence? Monday night was a must win game for ourselves and our defence was hardly wide open considering the rags didn't have a shot! Newcastle's home defensive record is almost as good as ours at The Etihad.

if our players had as much bottle as most of our fans we'd have the same amount of points as Liverpool

Some of the stuff coming out today from pardew, just smacks of over confidence. naming his team on the friday to the journo's like jose fucking mourinho. i hope all this comes back to haunt him
i dont mind pardew, has done a fantastic job so far at newcastle, but at times he does give it the look at me im billy big balls, one thing that stuck in my mind from earlier in the season, was after we played newcastle and pardew's post match comments, "they are the best side we have played by far and at times we were playing at full tilt just to keep up with them" hopefully he comes out with similiar comments tomorrow....

On there way to Newcastle

Come On

im nervous, but were playing for the premier league title here, one game, thats all it takes, win this and were basically champions,if the players cant put in a good effort knowing that then we wont deserve to be champions. iknow ppl will say qpr but COME ON there terrible to say the least.

oh an despite the great season newcastle has had there club haven't seen this kind of pressure and expectation at st james for many a year, will be just a big game for them as us if not more.

we may not have been here for a while either but weve won some HUGELY pressuring games this season, chelsea, united, arsenal everton, tottenham etc etc. games we would have bottled, even wolves away was a bananna skin, fighting to not be relegated and with us knowing we HAD to win to bring us back into it before the derby and we got the job done.

come on you blues!!!

Doesn't really. Newcastle could now lose or draw tomorrow and still have a chance of qualifying on the last day.
Newcastle have a huge incentive to go for it now. An Arsenal defeat could have tempted Newcastle into more conservative tactics. Now they must attack us. If it's level with half an hour to go, they simply have to win. Technically a draw and a win in their last game could see them in the top 4, but that's highly unlikely.

Do yous seriously see them playing for a draw when Arsenal and Spurs are so close and there are only 2 games left?

-- Sat May 05, 2012 3:12 pm --

It doesn't but I'd prefer to play a Newcastle team who come and have a go at us rather than one content to sit back and counter-attack. I can't think of many teams better set up to play on the counter-attack than Newcastle
